WEEK 21 Monday, February 01th 2021 S: 5AT4; C: 5BT2 Period 81 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST! Lesson 3: (1,2,3) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say sentences with the correct intornation.. Listen and read for specific information -Language focus: + Stress: sentences + Vocabularies: Review + Sentence patterns: - Phonetic: Don’t play with the knife! Ok, I won’t Why shouldn’t I play with the kinfe? Because you may cut yourself. -Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant. -Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape. B. Procedures. I. Warm up: Chatting - The class chatting What’s the matter with you? II. Listen and repeat. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress - Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times. - Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases, paying attention to the target sounds. - Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again. III. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to four sentences and underline the stressed words. - Play the recording more than once for Ss listen and circle the answers. - Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud. Key: 1.a 2.a 3. b 4. b IV. Let’s chant. - Tell Ss that they are going to do the chant: Why shouldn’t he do that? - Have Ss to read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording more than once for Ss to listen. Ss do choral and individual repetition. - Show them how to chant and actions. Divide the class into three groups, each group singing one of the chant. - Call some pairs to the front of class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps the syllables. V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise. - Have Ss do exercise A of unit 12 in workbook -T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure Monday, February 01th 2021 C: 5AT1; 5BT3 Period 82 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST! Lesson 3: (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice reading and writing About home accidents and how to avoid them. -Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review -Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking . -Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Let’s chant: Why shouldn’t he do that? - Whose class chant II. Read and do the tasts. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and circle the best title. - Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. Key: 1T 2F 3 T 4 F 5 F III. Write what may happen. - Tell Ss that they are going to write bout accidents that may happen to Tony, Linda, and Quan. Have Ss read the informatons first, then write the answering. - Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read their writing aloud. Key: Answer vary. IV. Project. - Tell Ss that they are going to make a poster about accident at home and how to avoid them. - Ask them to work in groups. They should decide which accidents to select and discuss how to avoid them. - Give time limit for them to do the task. - Ss report the results of their interviews to the class. V. Colour the stars. - Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. - Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. (- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.) VI. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise - Have Ss do exercise F of unit 12 in workbook -T corrects and feedback. VII. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure Thursday, February 04th 2021 S: 5AT3; 5BT4 Period 83 UNIT 13: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? Lesson 1: (1,2,3) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about what someone does in his/her free time. -Language focus: + Vocabularies: free time, karate, surf the internet, clean,.... + Sentence patterns: What do you do in your free time? – I .... -Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss. -Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Play Bingo game - The class play Bingo game with phrases such as: play badminton, play chess, go fishing... then get to make the sentences with the phrases in game. II. Look, Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story in which Nam and Tom talk about their free time activities. - Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they talking about? - Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat. - Write model sentenceon the board. A: What do you do in your free time? B: I ride my bike in the park - Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss , Ss –T, Ss – Ss ,open pairs – close pairs) III. Point and say. - Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about what someone does in his/her free time. - Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used. - Teach some vocabulary: free time, karate, surf the internet, clean,.... - Ask Ss to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures. - Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check Ss’ mistake when necessary. Ex: A: What do you do in your free time? B: I IV. Let’s talk. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about accident at home. - Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition. - Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - T writes them on the board. - Ask students read again, Call some students read aloud. Ex: A: Do you like .? B: Yes/No .. A: What do you do in your free time? B: I V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise : - Have Ss do exercise part B of unit 13 in workbook - T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure. Friday, February 05th 2021 S: 5AT1; 5BT2 Period 84 UNIT 13: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? Lesson 1: (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about what someone does in his/her free time. -Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review -Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing. -Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Chatting - T asks Ss answer Ex: A: Do you like .? B: Yes/No .. A: What do you do in your free time? B: I - Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons II. Listen and tick - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and tick the right pictures. - Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check their understanding. - Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their answers. - Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Give feedback. Read and complete. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with the answers. - Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer. - Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences. Key: 1. free 2. watch 3. go 4. Twice 5. songs IV. Let’s play - Tell Ss that they are going to play a matching game. - T explains how the game is played. - Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Call some Ss to read aloud the question and put them on the board. - Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives feedback V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise: - Have Ss do exercise C of unit 13 in workbook -T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure.
