Lesson 1 (1,2,3)
STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES
A. Objectives
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Ask and answer questions about toys.
- Pupils can ask and answer questions about what toys the other speaker
likes.
- Sentence Patterns: What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______.
- Vocabulary: trucks, dolls, kites, planes
2. Skills:
- Develop listening and speaking
3. Attitudes/ Quality:
- Ss confident in communicate with their friends.
- Ss love their toys and keep toys.
4. Forming competence:
- Ss know ask and answer question about toys.
- Practice with their friends.
B. Language focus
* Key terms: - Vocabulary: trucks, dolls, kites, planes
* Key grammatical structures
- Sentence Patterns: What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______.
C. Instructional resources
- Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer.
- Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks.
STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN
* Warm-up
- Have ss to recite the chant Do you have any cats? and sing the song Do
you have any pets?
Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Have ss open their book on page 40. - Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering questions
about toys.
- Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures and elicit what the
characters are saying.
- Use a poster to present the situation.
- Play the tape.
- Play the tape again.
- Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class.
- Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus.
- Introduce new word by using pictures: trucks, dolls, kites, planes
- Ask ss to listen and repeat.
- Call ss to read aloud the new words
Activity 2. point and say.
- Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with:
A: What toys do you like?
B: I like ...
- Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles.
- Ask Ss to repeat.
- Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in
Student Book.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call on a pair to perform.
Activity3. Let’s talk
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures.
- Elicit the words to fill the gap.
- Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times.
- Get ss to work in pairs.
- Go around the class and help when ss necessary.

- Summary the lesson
D. Homework
- Tell pupils to read the part 1 again.

- Ask and answer questions about quantity of pets that the other speaker
has.
- Sentence Patterns: How many ______ do you have? ̶ I have ______.
- Vocabulary: dogs, goldfish, parrots, cats
2. Skills:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Attitudes/ Quality:
- Ss confident in communicate with their friends.
- Ss love their pets and protect pets.
4. Forming competence:
- Using language to talk about quantity of pets.
- Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends.
B. Language focus
* Key terms: - Vocabulary: dogs, goldfish, parrots, cats
* Key grammatical structures
- Sentence Patterns: How many ______ do you have? ̶ I have ______.
C. Instructional resources

STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN

- Have 2 pairs ask and answer the questions What toys do you like?
- Monitor the activity.
Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Have Ss open their books page 48.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice talking about a number of pets and
toys. - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the name of the character
and explain what they say.
- Use 2 puppets to present the situation.
- Play the tape.
- Play the tape again.
- Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues.
- Teach new structures:
+ How many ..do you have?

- Monitor the activity.
Activity 2. point and say.
- Have pupils look at each the picture.
- Ask pupils to count the pet.
- Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the
board.
- Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times.
- Ask Ss to practice in pairs.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class.
- Observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue
Activity3. Let’s talk
- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 42.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say.
- Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles.
- Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles.
- Ask ss to work in pairs.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue.
C. Production
- Summary the lesson
D. Homework
- Tell pupils to read the part 1 again.
- Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern.
