WEEK 17 Monday, December 30th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 33 REVIEW 2: SELF –CHECK Lesten and tick, Lesten and circle, Lesten and tick or cross A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: -Phonics: the sound of the letters i, e, g, h -Vocabulary: chips, fish, milk, chicken bell, pen, pencil, red garden, gate, girl, goat hair, hand, head, horse -Structures: I like _____. (talking about hobbies) It’s a red _____. (introducing something) There’s a _____. (introducing something/someone) Touch your _____. (using the imperatives - Skills: reading, writing and listening, speaking 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love story Phil and Sue, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Chatting *Aims: to help ss review some unit that they learnt. *Procedure: - Ss listen -Have pupils look at the story Phil and Sue, listen and repeat the sentences in the bubbles. Say Look at the story, -Ss open the book listen and repeat, please! - Ask them to open their books and look at Self-check, saying Open your books and look at Self-check, please Activity 1. 1. Listen and tick. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and tick the correct boxes. -Look at the picture and *Procedure: listen. - Have pupils look at Picture 1, saying Look at Picture 1, please! What can you see? Can you see a goat and a gate? Ask them to say what they can see. E.g. 1a: I can see a goat. Draw pupils’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. Correct the answers, if necessary. - Invite some pupils to the front of the class to point to the pictures and say what they have heard *Keys: 1.a 2. a 3. a Activity 2. 2. Listen and circle: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and identify the sounds by circling the letters. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pairs of -Ss look and say. letters. Explain how to do the task, saying Listen to the sound and circle the letters, please! Check -Ss work in pair comprehension. - Ask pupils to work in pairs to point to the letters in each pair and say the -Ss listen and circle sounds, saying Point to the letters and say, please! - Play the recording, ask pupils to -SS check listen (twice) and circle the letters. Say Listen and circle, please! -Ss say in front of class - Ask pupils to swap and check the answers. Play the recording again for them to check, if necessary. Give the correct answers. - Invite some pupils to say the sound of the letters they have heard *Keys: 1- . i 2. e 3. g 4. h Activity 3. 3. Listen and tick or cross: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and put a tick or a cross in the box under each picture *Procedure: - Have pupils look at Picture 1 (saying Look at Picture 1, please!) and say -Ss look and listen. what they can see (saying What can you see? Can you see a bell? A ball? ). Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class, saying Point to the pictures and say, please! E.g. 1: a bell, 2: a fish. - Draw pupils’ attention to the box under Picture 1, saying Can you see a box under the picture?. Before -Ss look and say. playing the recording, say Are you ready?. Knowledge: - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and reading 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. Read and tick: *Aims: Ss will be able to read and tick the correct boxes. *Procedures: -Look at the picture and listen. - Have pupils look at the pictures and say what they can see. Draw pupils’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. Check comprehension. -Listen and answer - Ask pupils to look at the phrase in each question. Check their comprehension. -Ss read and tick - Get pupils to read the phrases and tick the correct boxes, saying Now read and tick the correct pictures, -Ss work in pair and check please! Give further support to each other’s answer those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Ask pupils to work in pairs and -Ss say in front of the class swap their work, saying Now work in pairs and check each other’s answers. -Ss listen Give pupils time to work. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Invite some pupils to show what they have done. Praise them if they have done well, saying You did very well Key: 1.b 2.b 3.a Activity 2 5. Find the words *Aims: Ss will be able to identify the written form of the words they have learnt and say them correctly. *Procedure: - Have pupils read the words around -Look at the picture and the table. Then check the answers as a class. - Invite some pupils to point at the picture and say the words they have completed. - Practice more at home. -Ss listen - Prepare for the next lesson.
