WEEK 24 Tuesday, March 01rd 2022 ST3: 3AT1; ST5: 3BT2 Period: 50 UNIT 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 1 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about one's action in progress. - Sentence Patterns: What are you doing? ̶ I’m _____. - Vocabulary: reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss help their parents to do housework - Complete the homework before class. 4. Forming competence: - Using language to talk about one’s action in progress. - Practice with their partners. B. Language focus * Key terms: - Vocabulary: reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What are you doing? ̶ I’m _____. C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have ss to recite the chant Do you like toys? Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have ss open their book on page 52. - Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering questions indoor activities. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures and elicit what the characters are saying. - Use a poster to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. - Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus. - Introduce new word by using pictures: reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor. - Ask ss to listen and repeat. - Call ss to read aloud the new words Activity 2. point and say. - Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with: A: What are you doing? B: I’m ... - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in Student Book. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Activity3. Let’s talk - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures. - Elicit the words to fill the gap. - Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times. - Get ss to work in pairs. - Go around the class and help when ss necessary C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. Thursday, March 03th 2022 ST5: 3AT1; ST6: 3BT2 Period: 51 UNIT 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 2 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone is doing. - Sentence Patterns: What’s he/ she doing? ̶ He’s / She’s _______. - Vocabulary: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss help their parents to do housework. - Complete the homework before class. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know ask and answer the question about someone’s action in progress with their partners. - Be active participate in activities. B. Language focus * Key terms: - Vocabulary: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What’s he/ she doing? ̶ He’s / She’s _______. C. Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice talking about what someone is doing. - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the name of the character and explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Use pictures to introduce new words: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV, doing homework. - Teach new structures: + What’s he/she doing? He’s/She’s - Monitor the activity. Activity 2. point and say. - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify activities. - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Activity3. Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern.
