Period 117 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT?
Lesson 3: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice
reading and writing about the drinking/eating habits.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking .
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Let’s chant
- Have class chant
II. Read and do the tasks.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and match them with the
headings.
- Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on
the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.

III. Write about your eating habits.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write about their eating habits. Have Ss read
the informatons first, then write the answering.
- Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read their writing aloud.
Key: Answer vary.
IV. Project.
- Tell Ss that they are going to work in groups and put words for foods and

drinks into the appropriate groups: wery healthy and not very healthy.
- Ask them to work in groups. Give time limit for them to do the task.
- Ss report the results of their interviews to the class.
V. Colour the stars.
- Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the
statements aloud.
- Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain
objectives.
(- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.)
VI. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise :
- Have Ss do exercise F of unit 17 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback.

Period 118 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE
TOMORROW?
Lesson 1: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about the weather
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: snowy, foggy, warm, cool, cold, hot,
stormy. forecast
+ Sentence patterns: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be
... and ...
- Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss.
- Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
The class play game: Slap the board, using the words: rainy, sunny, cloudy,
windy, weather, sun, cloud.... Then make sentences with the words.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read and listen to a story.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? Where are
they? What are they talking about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: What will the weather be like tomorrow?
B: It will be cold and snowy
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss , Ss –T, Ss – Ss ,open pairs – close
pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions
about the weather.

- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.
- Teach some vocabulary: snowy, foggy, warm, cool, cold, hot, stormy.

individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.

B: It will be and ..
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering
questions about the weather.
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
- T writes them on the board.
- Ask students read again, Call some students read aloud.
Ex: A: What’s the weather like today?
B: It’s and ..
A: What will the weather be like tomorrow?
B: It will be and ..

B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
- T asks Ss answer
Ex: What’s the weather like today?

A: What will the weather be like tomorrow?
B: It will be and ..
- Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons
II. Listen and circle a, b or c.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and circle a, b or c to complete
sentences..
- Have pupils look at the text and answers. Check their understanding.
- Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their
answers.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Give feedback.

III. Read and complete.
- Tell pupils that they are going to look at a map and fill the gapped
sentences.

B. Procedure.
I. Warm up: Chatting?
How many seasons are there in a year?
What are they?
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story about the seasons and
weather.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they
talking about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. Ask a few pairs to role-
play the conversation.
- Write model sentence on the board.
