Period 77 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST!
Lesson 1: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to express and
repond to concerns about possible accident at home.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: knife, matches, stair, stove, arm, leg, clim,
run, down, fall off....
+ Sentence patterns: Don’t ...! OK, I won’t.
- Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss.
- Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. “Brainstorms”.
- Let’s Ss play the game Activities
- Give them comments
- T introdures new lesson.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story about Tom and Mary.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language
is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they talking
about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat.
- Write model sentenceon the board.
A: Don’t touch the stove!
B: OK, I won’t.
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss , Ss –T, Ss – Ss ,open pairs – close pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell pupils that they are going to practise expressing and reponding to
concerns about possible accident at home.
- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used. - Teach some vocabulary: knife, matches, stair, stove, arm, leg, clim, run,
down, fall off....
- Ask Ss to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same produce
with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
Ex: A: Don’t !
B: OK, I won’t.
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering
questions about accident at home.
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions and
answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
- T writes them on the board.
- Ask students read again, Call some students read aloud.
Ex: A: What are you doing ?
B: I want to .
A: Don’t !
B: OK, I won’t.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise part B of unit 12 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 78 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST!
Lesson 1: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to express and
repond to concerns about possible accident at home.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing.
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
- T asks Ss answer
Ex: A: Don’t touch the stove!
B: OK, I won’t
- Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons
II. Listen and tick.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and tick the problem of each
character.
- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check their
understanding.
- Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their answers.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Give feedback.
Key: 1 b 2 c 3 a 4b
III. Read and complete.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read and fill the gaps with the answers.
- Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer. - Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.
Key: 1. room 2. cooking 3. answered 4. run 5. won’t
IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing Don’t do that song.
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity.
V. Reinforcement.

Period 79 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST!
Lesson 2: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about accident prevention.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: knife, cut, stove, burn, fast, fall off, run
down, stair, break.....
+ Sentence patterns: Why shouldn’t I ...? Because you may ...
- Practice skill: Listening, speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up: sing
- Have Ss sing a song they have learnt.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story. Have them look at the pictures
and guess what the story is about. Check their comprehension by pointing at each
pictureto elicit their answer to the questions.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language
is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they talking
about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. Ask a few pairs to role-
play the conversation.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: Why shouldn’t I climb the tree?
B: Because you may fall and break his leg.
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss, Ss –T, Ss – Ss, open pairs – close pairs)

- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about
accident prevention.
- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.

break - Ask Ss to listen and repeat more times the phrases chorally and individually.
Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.
Ex: A: Why shouldn’t I ...?
B: Because you may ...

- Do the task with two Ss. Put questions and answers on the board and do
choral and individual repetition.
- Ask them to work in pairs to prepare exchanges based on the questions
provided.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: A: What is he/she doing?
B: He/ She is .. He shouldn’t do that.
A: Why shouldn’t he/she ...?
B: Because he/she may ...

questions about accident prevention

+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures .
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. * Chatting
- T asks-Ss answer.
II. Listen and complete with one word.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and complete each sentence with one
word.
- Ask Ss to read sentences and try to guessthe word to fill each gap.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the sentences.
Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.
*Answer: 1/ sharp 2/ wall 3/ burn 4/ arm.
III. Read and complete.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read and fill the gaps with the answers.
- Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer.
- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences. * Key: 1. knife 2 don’t 3 why 4 yourself 5 see
IV. Let’s play.
- Tell Ss that they are going to play Matching game.
- T explains how the game is played .
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the question and put them on the board.
- Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives
feedback
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise E of unit 12 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback
VI. Homelink.
- Learn by heart vocabulary and structure.
