WEEK 17 Monday, January 04th 2020 S: 5AT4; C: 5BT2 Period 65 UNIT 10: WHEN WILL SPORTS DAY BE? Lesson 4: (4,5,6,7) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice reading and writing bout sport Day. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review - Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking . - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Let’s chant: What are they going to do? - Whose class chant II. Read and tick. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and tick the correct symbols. - Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. Key: Mai/Linda/ table tennis Nam/Phong/ football Tony/basketball Peter/badminton Tom/swim III. Write about Sports Day. - Tell Ss that they are going to write bout sport Day at their own school. Have Ss read the informatons first, then write the answering. - Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read their writing aloud. Key: Ss’ own answers IV. Project. - Tell Ss that they are going to draw three sports. - Ask them to work in groups of three to discuss and selectthree sports. - Give time limit for them to do the task. - Ss report the results of their interviews to the class. V. Colour the stars. - Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. - Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. (- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.) VI. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise : - Have Ss do exercise F of unit 10 in workbook - T corrects and feedback. VII. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure Monday, January 04th 2020 C: 5AT1; 5BT3 Period 66 REVIEW 2 (P1) A. Objectives: - By the end of the period, Students will be able to listen, read and identify specific information related to the theme Me and my school. Use simple sentences to write about themsheves. Read, listen and understand a short story. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns:review - Practice skill: reading, writing, speaking. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: * Sing some songs - Have Ss review some songs. - Ss sing II. Practice. 1. Listen and tick. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes a,b or c of the pictures. Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures. Elicit the name of the characters. - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. - Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their partners before reporting them to the class. - Correct, remark. - Play the recording again to Ss repeat follow *Key: 1.c 2.b 2. Listen and number. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to four dialogues and number the correct pictures. Show Ss how to number the boxes. - Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify each activity. Check understanding. - Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen to and number the pictures. Do the task and check their answer. - Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class. - T gives feedback. Key: 1c 2d 3a 4b 3. Listen and tick YES(Y) or No(N). - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to two dialogues and tick Yes or No. - Ask Ss look at at the statements first and then guess the answers. Give time to do the task independently. - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen to. Read and write - Tell Ss that they are going to read a text and answer the questions. Give them time to read the questions and answers in silence. - Ask Ss look at at the question first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask Ss to read the question and answer aloud. Key: 1/ He has English four times a week. 2/ Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. 3/ by talking to his foreign friends. 4/by sending emails to his friend Hakim in Malaysia. 5/ Because he wants to watch English cartoons on TV. 5. Write about you. Then tell the class - Tell Ss that they are going to write sentences about themselves. Give them time to read the questions in silence. Check their understanding.. - Get them swap their writing and call someone to read aloud their answer. * Key: Ss’ own answers. III. Objectives: - By the end of the period, Students will be able to listen and read and identify specific information related to the theme Me and my friends. Use simple sentences to write about themsheves. Read, listen and understand a story. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns:review - Practice skill: reading, writing, speaking. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: * Sing some song - Have Ss review some songs. - Ss sing II. Correcting. 1. Listen and tick. - Have Ss give best answer. Key: 1.c 2.b 2. Objectives: - By the end of the period, Students will be able to read, listen and understand a short story - Language focus: + Vocabularies: run, metres + Sentence patterns:review - Practice skill: reading, writing, speaking. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: * Sing some songs - Have Ss sing II. Practice 1. Read and listen to the story. - Tell Ss that they are going to read and listen to the story. - Before Ss listen, ask them to look at the picture and ask them questions to remind them of the old characters and introduce the new character - Ask them to read the story in silence. Play the tape and let the Ss listen.. - Give some new words: run, metres, 2. Answer the questions. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the story against. - Have Ss work in pair. Ask Ss give their answers in pairs for the correction. - Call on some Ss to report their answers. - T corrects and feedback * Key: 1. They’re practising for Mouse Sports Day. 2. he’s going to run a hundred metres 3. She’s going to play badminton. 4. She’s going to play table tennis. 5. No, he isn’t 3. Unscramble these words from story. - Tell Ss that they are going to put the letters in the correct order to make words, and that they can find the words in story. Do the first word as an example - Give them time to do the task - Asking Ss to unscramble in individual. - Call some Ss to write on the board. Read and match. - Tell Ss that they are going to read and match the questions and with the answers. - Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer. - Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.
