WEEK 15 Monday, December 21th 2020 S: 5AT4; C: 5BT2 Period 57 UNIT 9: WHAT DID YOU SEE AT THE ZOO? Lesson 2: (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to listen and write about what animals did in the zoo. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns:review - Practice skill: Listening, writing. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures . B. Procedure. I. Warm up. * Chatting Ex: What are your favourite animals at the zoo? They’re .. What did the do when you were there? They - Ss answer. II. Listen and circle a or b. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a or b - Ask Ss to read the sentences and guess the words to complete them. - Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the sentences. Do the task and check their answer. - Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class. - T gives feedback. *Answer: 1/ a 2/ b 3/ b III. Write about your visit to the zoo. - Tell Ss that they are going to writeabout things that really happened to them. - Ask Ss to read all them and check their understanding. - Give Ss time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences and correct. * Key: Sts’ own answers IV. Let’s play. - Tell Ss that they are going to play animals in action.( charades) - T explains how the game is played . - Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Call some Ss to read aloud the question and put them on the board. - Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives feedback V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise. - Have Ss do exercise E of unit 9 in workbook - T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocabulary and structure. Monday, December 21th 2020 C: 5AT1; 5BT3 Period 58 UNIT 9: WHAT DID YOU SEE AT THE ZOO? Lesson 3: (1,2,3) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Listen and read for specific information - Language focus: + Stress: sentences + Vocabularies: Review + Sentence patterns: Review - Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape. B. Procedures. I. Warm up: Sing a song. What did you see at the zoo? song. - T asks Ss answer some questions. II. Listen and repeat. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress - Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times. - Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases, paying attention to the target sounds. - Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again. III. Listen and underlined the stressed words. Then say the sentences aloud. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to four sentences and circle the correct words. - Ask them to look at the sentences ask guess the words to fill the gaps. - Play the recording more than once for Ss listen and circle the answers. - Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud. Key: 1/ What .see .zoo? - saw animals. 2/What peacocks do .there? - moved beautifully. IV. Let’s chant. - Tell Ss that they are going to do the chant: At the circus? - Have Ss to read the chant and check comprehension - Play the recording more than once for Ss to listen. Ss do choral and individual repetition. - Show them how to chant and actions. Divide the class into three groups, each group singing one of the chant. - Call some pairs to the front of class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps the syllables. V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise. - Have Ss do exercise A of unit 9 in workbook - T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure Thursday, December 24th 2020 S: 5AT3; 5BT4 Period 59 UNIT 9: WHAT DID YOU SEE AT THE ZOO? Lesson 3: (4,5,6,7) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice reading and writing bout what animals did in the zoo. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review - Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking . - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Let’s chant : At the circus? - Whose class chant II. Read and match. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and match the sentences with First, then, Next, and In the end. - Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. Key: 1/Y 2/N 3/Y 4/N 5/Y III. Write about your last visit to the zoo. - Tell Ss that they are going to write bout their last visit to the zoo. Have Ss read the informatons first, then write the answering. - Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ss to read their writing aloud. Key: Ss’ own answers IV. Project. - Tell Ss that they are going to draw a picture of Sts’ dream zoo. - Ask them to copy the table below to interview and takes notes. - Give time limit for them to do the task. - Ss report the results of their interviews to the class. V. Colour the stars. - Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. - Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. (- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.) VI. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise - Have Ss do exercise F of unit 9 in workbook - T corrects and feedback. VII. Homelink. - Learn by heart vocab & structure Friday, December 25th 2020 S: 5AT1; 5BT2 Period 60 UNIT 10: WHEN WILL SPORTS DAY BE? Lesson 1: (1,2,3) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about school events and future activities. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: Sports Day, look for, sport day, take part in, dependence Day, Children’s day, contest, festival. + Sentence patterns: When will be? – It’ll be on - Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss. - Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. “Brainstorms”. - Let’s Ss play the game festivals - Give them comments - T introdures new lesson. II. Look, Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story about school events. - Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they talking about? - Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat. - Write model sentenceon the board. A: When will Sports Day be? B: It’ll be on Saturday - Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss , Ss –T, Ss – Ss ,open pairs – close pairs) III. Point and say. - Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions a bout school events. - Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used. - Teach some vocabulary: Sports Day, look for, sport day, take part in, dependence Day, Children’s day, contest, festival. - Ask Ss to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures. - Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check Ss’ mistake when necessary. Ex: A: When will be? B: It’ll be on IV. Let’s talk. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about the animals in the zoo. - Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition. - Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - T writes them on the board. - Ask students read again, Call some students read aloud. Ex: When will be? It’ll be on V. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise - Have Ss do exercise part B of unit 10 in workbook - T corrects and feedback VI. Homelink . - Learn by heart vocab & structure.
