WEEK 4 Tuesday, September 27th 2022 S: 4AT1 Period: 13 UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? Lesson 1 (1,2) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about the days of the week. - Pupils can ask and answer about days of the week. - Sentence Patterns: What day is it today? − It’s ___. - Vocabulary: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday July, have, day, today 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Keep their things tidy - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, July, have, day, today * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: What day is it today? − It’s ___. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. - Let Ss take the card and talk - Talk: My name is . I’m from I’m in I’m . Task 1. Look, listen and repeat - Hang the picture on the board, let sts talk about the picture + Who are they? + Where are they? + What are they talking about? - Play the recording - Listen and guess the meaning - Listen and repeat all the dialogue (3 times) - Teach the new vocabulary: today, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Ask sts to read in groups - Check some groups and correct - Emphasize sts the use of What day is it today? – It’s The teacher guides Loc and Khanh to read some simple words and sentences: Monday, Sunday, Friday . Task 2. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about the days of the week. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read the information on a table, and fill the gapped sentences. - Sing the song We have English today. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. - Show sts how to play: (Key: the days of the week) Task 3. Look and write - Have pupils look at the sentences and the table (p19) then guess the suitable words to fill. - Call on some Ss to report the answers. - Guide ss to complete the exercise. - Have ss read aloud the sentences they have written. - Check and correct. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about weekly activities. - Pupils can ask and answer about each other’s weekly activities. - Sentence Patterns: What do you do on ____? − I ____. - Vocabulary: go to school, go to the zoo, help my parents, listen to music, watch TV, play the guitar, go swimming, visit my friends, play football, visit my grandparents 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Co-operation - Using language to ask and answer questions about weekly activities. II. Skills - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Co-operation - Using language to ask and answer questions about weekly activities. II.
