Lesson Plan 4 WEEK 31 Monday, April 26th 2021 S: 4AT2; 4BT3 Period 121 UNIT 18: WHAT’ YOUR PHONE NUMBER? Lesson 2: (4,5,6) A. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to further practice giving, accepting and declining an invitation. - Develop Ss listening, writing skills * Language focus: * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Asking and answering - Would you like to ___________ ? II. New lesson: 1. Listen and circle: - Have pupils look at 4 sentences given and each pair of words - Get sts read aloud the words - Let them guess the words in the blanks - Give feedback - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the words they hear for each sentence. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and circle - Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1. a; 2. a 3. b 4. a 2. Lesson 3: (1,2,3) A. Aim: - Ss will be able to master how to say the right stress sounds with verbs that have two syllables - Ss will be able to chant together - Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills * Language focus: - Vocabulary: revision * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Retelling the way to stress the nouns with two syllables II. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat: - Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page 56) - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the stress sounds with different verbs that have 2 syllables. - Play Cd for sts listen and repaet the words and sentences given - Pronoun the word: re‘peat - Pronoun the word: en‘joy - Pronoun the word: in‘vite - Pronoun the word: com‘plete - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each verb to know the stress. - Give the notes how to stress rightly with the verbs with 2 syllables Teacher: Trần Thị Hạnh - 3 - Lesson Plan 4 - Have sts give more words to practice 2. Listen and circle. Then say the sentences aloud: - Have pupils look at sentences and pairs of verbs given. - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 dialogues and circle the verbs say aloud - Get sts’ answers - Give feedback * Key: 1- a; 2- b; 3-b; 4-a - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and repeat. - Play the recording for sts say along - Have pupils practice saying the 4 sentences 3. Let’s chant: I’d like to invite you to my party - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 56 written on it on the board - Tell pupils that they are going to chant - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. III. Consolidation: - Summary the lesson - Do exercises E in workbook. Aim: - By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: do the reading comprehension and writing task about what they want and like doing at weekends . - Develop Ss reading, writing skills * Language focus: revision * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Brainstorming go to the beach visit grandparents What you do at weekend do housework play sports and games II. New lesson: 1. Read and tick: - Have pupils open their books at Page 57 - Have sts read through the passage - Elicit the content of the passage - Tell pupils that they are going to read a passage about Tom’s weekends - T reads – sts repeat - Pupils read the individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts get information from the passage, read the statements given to tick true/false - Sts do the task in pairs - Get sts’ answers - Give feedback * Answer key: Teacher: Trần Thị Hạnh - 5 - Lesson Plan 4 1 – F; 2 – T; 3 – F; 4 – T; 5 - T 5. Let’s write: - Elicit sts about what they do at the weekend - Get sts’ ideas -> Give feedback and contribute - Ask sts to write base on the beginning words given - Monitor and give model - Pupils write individually - Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. * Suggested answer: On Sunday, I often go to the beach with my family. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about someone’s desire. - Develop Ss speaking skill * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - What animal do you want to see ? + I want to see _____________. * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Network tiger lion Animal elephant bear . II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: • Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 58 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures: Nam and Mai - Elicit information from the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class - get sts’ ideas about the model sentences: - What animal do you want to see? + I want to see monkeys. Point and say: - Get sts say about the names of animals in the pictures given - Run through the names of animals in the pictures - Sts listen, point and repeat along - Explain the pattern: - What animal do you want to see? + I want to see monkeys. - Ask pupils to point and say names of animals by asking and answing with: “What animal do you want to see?” - Have pupils look at names of animals, use the model sentences to ask and annswer about desire - Model * Pairwork: - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation - Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. - The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. 3. Consolidation: a. Free practice: - Have sts work in pairs to ask and answer about what animal they want to see - Call some pairs say aloud - Give feedback b.
