Lesson Plan 4 WEEK 29 Monday, April 12th 2021 S: 4AT2; 4BT3 Period 113 Unit 17: How much is the T – shirt? Lesson 1: (3,4,5) A. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice making and answering about prices of clothes. - Develop Ss’ listening and writing skills * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - How much is the T – shirt? + It’s 50,000 dong. * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: jumper jacket Clothes skirt dress blouse scarf II. New lesson: 1. Listen and tick: - Have pupils look at the 3 clothes and 3 prices given below - Get sts say aloud one by one - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and tick the correct prices with the clothes - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct prices. Teacher: Trần Thị Hạnh - 1 - Lesson Plan 4 - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gets the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Look and write: - Have pupils look at the clothes with prices - Ask pupils what they do this part - Tell them that they are going to write to say about prices of clothes - Have pupils do the task - Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils discuss their answers in pairs for correction. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. - Have the class chorally read each line. * Answer key: 2. The yellow jumper is forty thousand dong. 3. The read jacket is sixty thousand dong. 4. The green skirt is seventy thousand dong. 5. The pink blouse is fifty thousand dong. III. Consolidation: 1. Let’s play: - Introduce the game “Pelmanism” - Models for sts understand the way to play it - Ask pupils what they do this part. - Have pupils play the game in pairs - Have the students play the game freely - Go around to check 2. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about prices of clothes (plural). - Develop speaking skill * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - How much are these trousres? + They’re 99,000 dong. * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Revising - How much is the dress? – It’s . - Show some kinds of clothes in plural forms, elicit the4 names and introduce one by one: trousers, shoes, sandals, jeans . II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Ask pupils the names of the characters in the dialogue: Hoa and Mai and sales assistant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - How much are these trousers? + They’re 99,000 dong. 2. Point and say: - Ask Sts to look at the clothes and prices given. - Play CD for sts listen and repeat all clothes and prices - Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals. Let’s talk: - Ask them to read the questions given: - How much is that - How much are those ..? - Model - Ask pupils work in pairs to ask ans answer the prices with singular and plural nouns. - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation - Call on some sts to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. 4. Consolidation: a. Summary the lesson: - Have sts copy the words about activities at festivals 1. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to further practice asking and answering about prices of clothes (plural) - Develop Ss listening, writing skills * Language focus: * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Asking and answering - show some clothes and prices,ask: + How much is ..? + How much are .? II. New lesson: 1. Listen and write the prices: - Have pupils look at 4 kinds of the clothes given - Get sts read aloud the words - Let them guess the prices in the blanks - Give feedback - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and write the prices they hear for each clothes. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and write - Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Lesson 3: (1,2,3) A. Aim: - Ss will be able to master how to say the right stress sounds with words that have two syllables - Ss will be able to chant together - Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills * Language focus: - Vocabulary: revision * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: 1. Sing the “Buying clothes” song 2. Writing - Have sts come to the board and write the words that have 2 syllables II. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat: - Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page 50) - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the stress sounds with different words that have 2 syllables. - Play Cd for sts listen and repaet the words and sentences given - Pronoun the word: ‘sandals - Pronoun the word: ‘trousers - Pronoun the word: ‘jumper - Pronoun the word: ‘jacket Teacher: Trần Thị Hạnh - 7 - Lesson Plan 4 - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each words to know their stresses. - Give the notes how to stress rightly with the nouns with 2 syllables - Have sts give more words to practice 2. Look, listen. Then say the sentences aloud: - Have pupils look at sentences and the stress marks given. - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 sentences and say aloud - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and repeat. - Play the recording for sts say along - Have pupils practice saying the 4 sentences 3. Let’s chant: How much is/are ? - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 50 written on it on the board - Tell pupils that they are going to chant - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class.
