WEEK 24 Monday, March 14th 2022 S: 4AT1; 4BT2; 4CT3 Period 58 UNIT 17: HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT? Lesson 3 (1, 2,3) A. Objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce two-syllable words with the stress on the first syllable 'sandals, 'trousers, 'jumper, and 'jacket. - Look at the sentences and the stress marks ('). Then listen and say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant How much is / are...? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary : Revision 2. Skills: Listening, and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss look after, solve problem s and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their family. 4. Forming competence: - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity B. Language focus * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by having the class sing the song Buying clothes, one haft singing the questions and the other half sing the answer Activity 1: Listen and repeat. - Tell the class that they are going to practise saying words ‘sandals, ‘trousers, ‘jumper and ‘jacket. - First, explain to pupils what word stress is , in Vietnamese, if necessary. - Write ‘sandals, ‘trousers,’jumper and ‘jacket. - Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat them,paying attention to the target words and stress. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. Activity 2: Listen at the sentences and the stress mark(‘).Then listen and say the sentences aloud. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the sentences, listen to the recoding and repeat the sentences. - Give them a few seconds to read each of the sentences in silence. - Invite a few pupils to read aloud the sentences, while the rest of the class clap at the stressed syllable. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. Activity 3: Let’s chant. - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant How much is/are ..? Follow the procedure in Teaching the unit components in Introduction. - Play the recording a few times - Divide the class into two halves: one haft says the questions and the other half says the answers C. Production - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. D. Homework - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures Wednsday, March 16th 2022 S: 4AT1; 4BT2; 4CT3 Period 59 UNIT 17: HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT? Lesson 1 (4); Lesson 2 (4); Lesson 3 (5,6) A. Objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the words respectively. - Read the paragraph and complete the table. - Draw three clothing items and write their prices. - Make four flashcards of clothes. Draw a picture of a clothing item on one side of the card and write the word for it on the other side. Then practise with a partner. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening, reading, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss look after, solve problem s and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their family. 4. Remind them to use a louder voice for the first syllable. You may ask them to clap at the stressed syllable as they say the words. Here are some words you may use‘sandals, ‘trousers,’jumper , ‘jacket, ‘yellow Activity 1: Listen and tick. - Introduce the activity by saying ‘You are going to listen to three conversations and tick correct box under each picture.’’ - Give a few seconds for pupils to look at the pictures and read the prices Ask them to say the prices aloud. - Play the recording hree times once for pupils to listen all the way through, a second time for them to do the task and finally for them to check the answers. Ask them to focus on the price of each item. - Get pupils to swap their answers before you check as a class. Key :( a3 ; b1 ; c2) Activity 2: Listen and write the prices. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to four dialogues about clothes and write the prices. - Give a few seconds for them to look at the pictures - Play the recoding three times. - When the listening activity is over, have four pupils tell the class the prices of the four clothing items (eg. Look at this picture. The sandals are 90,000 dong) Key: a.90,000dong b.73,000 c.80,000 d. 95,000dong Activity 3: Draw three clothing items and write their prices. - Introduce the activity by saying Now it’s time for you to draw your three favourite clothing items and write their prices. - Draw a few sketches of clothes on the board as examples. - Set a time for them to do the task in silence. When time is up, get two or three pupils to show their drawings and read aloud their writing. Key: Pupils’s own answers. Activity 4: Project. - Tell pupils that they are going to make four flashcards of clothes. - Give each pupil four card, and also some crayons a d colour pencils for drawing. - Key: Pupils’ own answers C. Production - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. D. Homework - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures Friday, March 18th 2022 S: 4BT2; 4AT3; 4C4 Period 60 UNIT 18: WHAT’S YOUR PHONE NUMBER? Lesson 1 (1, 2) A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: -Ask and answer questions about the someone’s phone number. - Sentence Patterns: What’s your phone number? ̶ It’s ___. - Vocabulary: Lily, John, Sally, Sam, phone numbers 2. Skills. - Develop Ss reading, speaking and listening skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Live responsibly - Be polite - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. Language focus * Key terms: Lily, John, Sally, Sam, phone numbers * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What’s your phone number? ̶ It’s ___. C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Prepare ps for this unit by revising numbers from zero to nine. Write the numbers randomly on the board. Point at each of them and have pupils say the number. Point at a quicker pace to make it more challenging. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the lesson by saying Look at the pictures and read a story in which the characters ask and answer questions about phone number, using What’s....’s phone number? It’s - Give a few minutes for pupils to look at the four pictures to discuss the context - Give new words: phone number, mobile phone - Play the recording so they can listen and repeat. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and repeat. Activity 2: Point and say. - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about phone numbers, using What’s....’s phone number? It’s - Have them to look the phone numbers in pictures and the names under them. Point to Picture a and have them say the phone number. - Do choral and individual repetition. Then tell the class to work in pairs and practise asking and answering questions about phone numbers, using the text in the bubbles and the picture cues. - Do an example with a pupil using Picture a. - Sentence Patterns: T: What’s....’s phone number? It’s - Ask ps to work in pairs and do the task. - Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. C. Production - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. D.
