WEEK 15
Monday, December 21th 2020
S: 4AT2; 4BT3
Period 57 UNIT 9: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Lesson 2: (4,5,6)
A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write to ask and
answer questions about what people are doing.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies:review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing .playing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures .
B. Procedure
I. Warm up. * Chatting
- Tell Ss that they are going to answer the question .
- Call some pairs to talk in front of the class
Ex: A:What are they doing?
B: They’re reading a book.
II. Listen and number.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen four dialogues and number the
pictures. Show Ss how
to number the boxes.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify each activity.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and number the pictures.
Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.
*Answer: 1. d 2. a 3. c 4.b
III. Look and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to anser the questions about what the children
are doing.

- Ask them to look at pictures to didentify and write the answers the
questions about what the children are doing.
- Give them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class and call some
Ss to read aloud the completed text.
* Key: 1. They’re painting a mask 2. They’re making a kite.
3. They’re making paper planes 4. They’re making a paper house.
IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song What are they doing?
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise E of unit 9 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 58 UNIT 9: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce
correctly the sound of the letters “sk” “xt”. Listen and read for specific
information.
- Language focus: + Phonics: the letter “sk” “xt”
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns: Review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures:
I. Warm up: *Slap the board
- Have Ss play the game Slap the board.
- Work in groups to play the game
Leaning V-ing speaking
- Guide Ss to talk about V-ng
II. Listen and repeat. * Phonics.
- Student practice how to pronounce the letter “ sk ” “ xt”
Ex: - sk /sk /: mask
- xt /st I : text
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the letters “sk”
“ xt”. in the words mask/ text street respectively.
- Put the letters “ sk ” “ xt” on the board.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times.
- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds.

- Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and circle. Then say aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the right
words and read the sentences aloud
- Play the recording more than once.
- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.
*Key: 1. a 2. a 3. a 4. b
IV. Let’s chant: What’s he doing?
- Tell Ss that they are going to say and chant.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen.
- Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line and clap the syllables.
- Divide the class into two. One group repeats each line of the chant, the
other clap the syllables.Repeat the step but this time the groups swap their parts.
- Call some volunteers to recite the chants. The rest of the class clap the
syllables.
- Ask all the class repeat the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise A of unit 9 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 59 UNIT 9: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Lesson 3: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice
reading and writing about what people are doing.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking .
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Let’s chant
- Whose class chant What’s he doing?
II. Read and tick.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write short paragraph to describe what the
Ss are doing their Art lesson
- Get Ss to read the text and focus on the information to complete the
sentences.
- Work in individual.Check and compare the answer with the partner.
- Call on some Ss to report their answers.
- Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences.
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their
pronunciation
*Answer: 1.f 2.f 3.f 4.t 5. f
III. Write about you and your school subjects.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write some sentences about school subjects,
Using the information from
- Have Ss work in pairs or groups too discuss what they are going to fill the
gaps with.
- Give Ss time to do the task independently.

- Get them swap their writing and call someone to read aloud their answer.
*Answer: Teacher is drawing a mask on the board. The Ss are making
puppets and painting masks. The boy are making a kite and paiting houses.
IV. Project.
- Tell Ss that they are going to do a project. Explain the task and check
understanding.
- Get a pair to do for example. Put the following on the board as example.
- Get Ss time to do the interview their friends, Call on some Ss to report
their answers

Period 60 UNIT 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY?
Lesson 1: (1,2)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to Ask and
answer the questions about where someone was in the past.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: about places, the time in the past.
+ Sentence patterns: Where were you yesterday?
– I was...
- Practice skill: listening and speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, tape, pictures...
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Brainstorm.
- Have Ss give some verbs for learning activities in the classroom.
At home cinema
Some where
At school on the beach
- Ss play with two group
- Ss write on the board.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to find out about how to ask and answer
questions about where someone was yesterday.
- Ask Ss to look at four pictures to identify the characters and discuss the
context in which the language is used. Ask Ss some question Who are they?
Where are they? What are they doing? .
- Play the recording more than once to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Call some pairs to read the conversation.
- Write the whole sentences on the board

- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering questions
about what someone is doing in the classroom.
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit the words to fill the gaps.
- Give vocabulary: was, were, yesterday
- Divide the class into two groups to do choral and individal repetition. Ss
repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
Ex: A: Where were you yesterday?
B: I was at home.
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering more
activities.
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: A: Where were you yesterday?
B: I was at home.
V. Reinforcement.
Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise B of unit 10 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback
