WEEK 10 Tuesday, November 08th 2022 S: 4AT1 Period: 37 UNIT 6: WHERE’S YOUR SCHOOL? Lesson 2 (4,5,6) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about what class someone is in. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Read and fill the gapped exchanges, using the pictures. - Play the game Pass the secret. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Love their class, School - United friend 4. Forming competence - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting Let’s play - Tell pupils that they are going to play a game named Passing the secret or Chinese whisper - Guide Ss to play a game: Passing the secret + Divide the class into 2 teams + Tell team 1: My school is in Yen Lang Village + Tell team 1: My school is in Chu Van An Street - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to four dialogues about what the four characters can do and number the pictures. - Ask them to look at the pictures and identify what the character in each picture can do. Check understanding. Task 4. Listen and number - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and number the pictures. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Check Audio script: teacher’s book/p57 Key: a.3 b.1 c.4 d.2 Task 5. Look and write - Tell pupils that they are going to write the answers to the questions about what the children can do, using the picture cues. - Ask them to look at the pictures to identify the character. - Have them write the appropriate answers. Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Check. Audio script: T’s book/p57 Key: 1. Lesson 3 (1,2,3) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the sounds of the letters sch, sk and str in the words school, skipping and street respectively. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing the sentences. Then write, and say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant: School, school, school! 2. Skills - Develop Ss listening, speaking & writing skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident when talking English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - Know how to practise some sounds - Practise in pairs - Let sts talk something about them (name, school, class...) II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting Task 1. Listen and repeat - Tell pupils that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters sch, sk and str, in the words school, skipping and street respectively. - Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. - Put the letters sch, sk and str, in the words school, skipping and street and the sentences This is our school, Mai likes skipping and My school is in Nguyen Du Street on the board. - Play the recording a few more times and let pupils say the sentences, paying attention to the target sounds. Task 2. Listen and circle. Then say aloud - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to five sentences with the sounds sch, sk and str and circle them. - Give pupils a few seconds - Check pupils’ understanding. - Play the recording - Play the recording again for them to check their answers. - Get pupils to say the sentences aloud Audio script: T’s book/48 Key: 1b 2b 3b 4a 5a Task 4. Let’s chant - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant School, school, school! - Check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. - Put them into groups of four. Get pairs or groups to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Call two groups of pupils to the front of the class to chant and do actions. – -The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Thursday, November 10th 2022 S: 4AT4 Period: 39 UNIT 6: WHERE’S YOUR SCHOOL? Lesson 3 (4,5,6) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Read the name card, and fill the gapped paragraph. - Write about their school, using the writing frame. - Make a name card for a friend, using the writing form. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop Ss listening, reading & writing skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident when talking English - United friend 4. Forming competence - Know how to practise some sounds - Practise in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting - Let Ss chant Task 4. Read and complete - Get Ss to read the text and focus on the information to complete the passage - Go around to help - Compare with the keys Key: 1, Le Mai 2, Vietnamese 3, Nguyen Du Primary School 4, Nguyen Du Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi 5, 4A Task 5. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about what someone like doing. - Sentence Patterns: What do you like doing? − I like _____. - Vocabulary: swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, playing chess 2. Skills - Develop Ss listening & speaking skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Ss will be active. 4. Forming competence. - To know talking about activities they likes. - Work in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, playing chess * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: What do you like doing? − I like _____. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting - Guide sts play Task 1. Look, listen and repeat -Tell pupils that they are going to learn to how to ask and answer questions about things someone likes doing. Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing? What are they talking about? - Play the recording - Play the recording again (sometimes). - Go around and help Ss - Correct about the intonation, .... - Ask: Which sentence does T. ask P.? Which sentence does P. answer? Task 2. Point and say - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about what someone likes doing, using What do you like doing? I like+verb-ing+(noun) - Have them look at the pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts. Help Ss if they need - Point to the first picture and do the task with one pupil, using the expressions in the bubbles and the words under the picture. - Check as a class and correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answer questions, using “What do you like doing? I like - Go around to help them - Call some pairs to report in front of the class Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook, learn by heart vocabulary and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment
