WEEK 1 Monday, September 05th 2022 S: 4AT2; 4BT3 Period: 1 UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Lesson 1 (1,2) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Greet and respond to greetings formally. - Sentence Patterns: Good ____. - Vocabulary: Mr Loc, Ms Hien, Mai, Nam, Phong Good morning. / Good afternoon. / Good evening. 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Ability/Quality - Learn hard - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Self-study ability - Use language to read and write about their school and lessons II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Mr Loc, Ms Hien, Mai, Nam, Phong Good morning. / Good afternoon. / Good evening. * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Good ____. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. - Have Ss play the game: passing ball to introduce themselves. Task 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to identify the characters. Who is this? Who are they? - Have Ss listen and repeat the short conversation between Miss Hien and her pupils. (twice) - Have Ss play role to read the dialog in groups. - Call some pairs to read the conversation. - Check Ss’ understanding: T: Good morning, class. + Encourage Ss to say: Good morning, Miss Hang. Task 2: Point and say - Ask Ss t look at the pictures a, b, c and d on page 6 to name people in each picture. Ask Ss to guess and complete the speech bubbles. - Ask them to act out the dialogue 1. Repeat the step with some other pairs for pictures - Have Ss work in pairs to play roles - Do as an example with picture a. T: Good morning, Nga. S1: Good morning, Mr Loc. - Do the same with other greetings and parts of the day. Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Task 3: Let’s sing. “Hello, how are you?” - Ask Ss to do Ex A, B at home. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Tuesday, September 06th 2022 ST3: 4AT1; CT5: 4BT2 Period: 2 UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Lesson 1 (4,5,6) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Greet and respond to greetings formally. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read and fill the gapped greetings, using the pictures. - Sing the song Good morning to you. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and reading. 3. Ability/Quality - Learn hard - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Self-study ability - Use language to read and write about their school and lessons II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. - Have Ss play the game: passing ball to introduce themselves. Task 1: Listen and tick - Ask pupils to open their students’ books on page 7. - Open their books. Identify the people and the parts of the day. - Ask them to look at pictures and say the names of the characters. - Listen to the teacher. Then Ss identify parts of the day. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to listen and tick. - Play the recording again and ask Ss to listen and check their answers. - Have Ss give the answers and correct. - Give the answers: 1. a 2. b 3. c Task 2: Look and write - Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill. - Look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill. - Call on some Ss to report the answers. - Complete the exercise individually. - Guide ss to complete the exercise. - 7-8 Ss read aloud, others listen and give comment. - Have ss read aloud the words they have written. - Check and correct. Task 3: Let’s sing - Sing “good morning to you” - Greeting their friends at home and at school - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Thursday, September 08th 2022 CT5: 4AT3; ST6: 4BT3 Period: 3 UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Lesson 2 (1,2,3) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Know the way to say and respond goodbye. - Sentence Patterns: Goodbye. See you tomorrow. / Goodbye. See you later. / Good night. - Vocabulary: see you tomorrow, see you later, good night 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To teach Ss to work hard, love their friends. - Be polite. 4. Forming competence - Co- operation - Self- study - Ss know how to greet and introduce themselves. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: see you tomorrow, see you later, good night * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Goodbye. See you tomorrow. / Goodbye. See you later. / Good night. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. *Bingo - Tell Ss: there are six words in the grid: (good morning, good afternoon. Good evening, goodbye and hello) - Play the game: x x x x x x - Ask Ss to copy the grid down to their notebooks and select six words at random to put them in the boxes. - Call out the words until there is a pupil getting three words on a straight line crossed out and calling Bingo! He or She is the winner. Task 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Ask Ss to open their books on P.10 - Ask: Who are they? Have Ss listen and repeat the short conversation between Miss Hien and her pupils. Task 2: Point and say - Ask Ss to look at the picture - Say: “You are going to practice greeting in different situations.” - Have Ss work in pairs to practice. - Do picture a as a model. T: Goodbye. Task 3: let’s talk - Have Ss look at the book and work in pairs to greet the parts of the day. - Call on some students to show in front of the class. - Check and correct. - Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Friday, September 09th 2022 ST6: 4AT4 Period: 4 UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Lesson 2 (4,5,6) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Know the way to say and respond goodbye. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Read and fill the gapped exchanges, using the pictures. - Play the game Bingo. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening, reading 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To teach Ss to work hard, love their friends. 4. Forming competence - Co- operation - Self- study - Ss know how to greet and introduce themselves. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting. - Ask students to work in pair, greeting each other. Calls some pairs. Task 1: Listen and number - Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c and d on page of the Student Book. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and number the pictures they hear. - Indentify the characters in each picture - Guess the answer - Listen and number. Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and number the boxes. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T give the answer. - Listen and check their answer Answer: 1.a 2.b 3.d 4.c - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Task 2: Look and write - Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill. - Look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill. - Call on some Ss to report the answers. - Complete the exercise individually. - Guide ss to complete the exercise. - Read aloud, others listen and give comment. - Have ss read aloud the letter they have written. - Check and correct. Task 3: Let’s play - Play bingo game pg.9 Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures * Comment
