WEEK 4 Tuesday, September 5th 2021 S: 3AT1 Period 9 UNIT 3 : THIS IS TONY. Lesson 1 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Introduce someone and respond to the introduction. - Sentence Patterns: This is ___. − Hello, ___. Nice to meet you. - Vocabulary: Tony, Linda, Peter, Quan, this is, nice to meet you 2. Skills - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitude/ Quality - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence - Ss using language to introduce someone. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: Tony, Linda, Peter, Quan, this is, nice to meet you. * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: This is ___. − Hello, ___. Nice to meet you. C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, handmade puppets, robot- teacher, CDs player, stereo. - Audio track: Unit 3- Lesson1- activity1,2,3 page 18; Cards STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Say hello to the class and have them reply. Walk around the class to greet some pupils, slapping on the hand of the greeted pupils. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the pictures on page 18. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Present the situation. - Read the dialogue. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. Activity 2: Point and say - Recall the introducing phrases. - Point to Peter. Ask pp to guess what each character should say. - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Activity 3: Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 18. - Ask Ss to identify the characters. - Point to Linda and Nam, ask Ss to guess what they would say. - Have the class repeat all the lines a few times. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next lesson (Unit 3, Lesson 2- Activities 1-3 on page 19). Thursday, September 7th 2021 S: 3AT1 Period 10 UNIT 3 : THIS IS TONY. Lesson 2 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about someone. “Is that ___? − Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t. It’s ___.’’ 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Ss confident in communicate with their friends - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence - Ss using language to ask and answer questions about someone. - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: that, it, not, yes, no * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Is that ___? − Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t. It’s ___. C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, handmade puppets, robot- teacher, CDs player, stereo. - Audio track: Unit 3- Lesson2- activity1,2,3 page 18; Cards STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Ask Ss sing the song on page 19, Lesson 1. - Give comments. Activity1: Look, listen and repeat - Have Ss open their books page 20. - Ask Ss the name of the characters and what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Monitor the activity. Activity2: Point and say - Ask ss to look at and point Mai and Nam. - Ask ss what each ss should say. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask Ss practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs to practice at the front of the class. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases. Activity 3: Let’s talk - Have pupils look at each of the picture on page 20. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Guide Ss to do the task. - Get ss practice in groups. - Monitor the activity - Ask Ss to walk around the class ask and answer about someone’s name. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next lesson (Unit 3, Lesson 3- Activities 1-3 on page21 ). Thursday, September 7th 2021 S: 3AT1 Period 11 UNIT 3 : THIS IS TONY. Lesson 3 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the sounds of the letters m and p in the words Mai and Peter respectively. - Ask and answer questions about one’s name and how to spell one's name. - Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words Mai and Peter. - Say the chant Hello. 2. Skills - Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence - Ss pronounce the sounds of the letters m and p - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: Review * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: How do you spell your name? − (N A M). C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, handmade puppets, CDs player, stereo. - Audio track: Unit 2- Lesson 3, activity1,2,3 page 16; Cards STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have Ss brainstorm all the phrases they have learnt related to greeting, self-introduce and leave-taking. - Monitor the activity. Activity 1: Presentation Task 1: Listen and tick. - Ask Ss look at the pictures a, b, c, d. - Guide ss to do the task. - Give an example. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on some ss (4-5 ss) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Play the tape. Activity 2: Listening practice (Read and match) - Have Ss open their book page 17. - Tell Ss that they are going to complete the dialogue. - Give an example. - Read and do the task. - Monitor the activity - Have Ss trade their answer in pair for correction. - Call on some Ss to report their answers. - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus. Activity 3: Chant practice (Project) - Have Ss brainstorm the letters of the alphabet, and spell the names of the classmates or members of their family. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern.
