WEEK 25 Tuesday, March 29th 2022 ST3: 3AT1; 3BT2 Period: 52 UNIT 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 2 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone is doing. - Sentence Patterns: What’s he/ she doing? ̶ He’s / She’s _______. - Vocabulary: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss help their parents to do housework. - Complete the homework before class. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know ask and answer the question about someone’s action in progress with their partners. - Be active participate in activities. B. Language focus * Key terms: - Vocabulary: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What’s he/ she doing? ̶ He’s / She’s _______. C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have 2 pairs ask and answer the questions What are you doing? - Monitor the activity. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice talking about what someone is doing. - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the name of the character and explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Use pictures to introduce new words: singing, drawing, playing the piano, watching TV, doing homework. - Teach new structures: + What’s he/she doing? He’s/She’s - Monitor the activity. Activity 2. point and say. - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify activities. - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Activity3. Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. Thursday, March 31th 2022 ST5: 3AT1; ST6: 3BT2 Period: 53 UNIT 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the letter clusters ea in reading and aw in drawing. - Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words reading and drawing. - Say the chant : What are you doing? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss confident perform the chant. - Ss love their pets. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know pronounce the sounds of the letters ea, aw - Ss know read and clap the hands with music. - Active participate in group. B. Language focus * Key terms: - Vocabulary: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. Listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 56. - Tell Ss that they are going to review phrases of saying reading and drawing. - Produce the sound of the letter ea in the words reading and that of the letter aw in the word drawing. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. Activity 2. Listen and write - Have Ss open their books to page 56. - Get Ss to talk about the way to do the task. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and write the missing words in dialogues 1 and 2. - Listen and check answer. - Check answers: 1.reading 2. drawing - Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction. - Ask 3-4 Ss to read their answers aloud to the class - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat each line of the dialogues. Activity3. Let’s chant - What are you doing? - Ask Ss to look at the chant in their books. - Play the tape and ask Ss to listen. - Play the tape again. - Ask Ss to practice singing in groups. - Call on one group to perform the chant at the front of the class. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern.
