Lesson 1 (1,2,3)
STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES
A. Objectives
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Ask and answer questions about things in the room.
- Sentence Patterns: Are there any . in the room?
Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t.
- Vocabulary: map, yes / sofa, yes / wardrobes, no / cupboards, no
2. Skills:
- Develop Ss listening and speaking
3. Attitudes/ Quality:
- Live responsibly
- Confident in learning and practice situations
4. Forming competence:
- Co-operation
- Using language to talk about things in the room.

- Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer.

STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN
* Warm-up
- Have ss to sing the song The poster and the ball and say the chant Where?.
Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Have pupils turn to page 24.
- Ask pupils to talk about the characters
- Tell them that they are going to talk about things in a room.
- Use a poster to present the situation.
- Play the tape. - Play the tape again.
- Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class.
- Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus.
- Introduce new word by using pictures: maps, sofas, wardrobes, cupboard.
- Ask ss to listen and repeat.
- Call ss to read aloud the new words
Activity 2. point and say.
- Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with:
A: Are there any ..in the room?
B: Yes, there are.
No, they aren’t.
- Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles.
- Ask Ss to repeat.
- Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in
Student Book.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call on a pair to perform
Activity3. Let’s talk
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures.
- Elicit the words to fill the gap.
- Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times.
- Get ss to work in pairs.
- Go around the class and help when ss necessary.

- Summary the lesson
D. Homework
- Tell pupils to read the part 1 again.

- Ask and answer about quantity of thing
- Sentence Patterns: How many ______ are there? ̶ There are ______.
- Vocabulary: fans, mirrors, doors, windows
2. Skill:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Attitudes/ Quality:
- Keep their house clean
- Love their house
4. Forming competence:
- Co-operation
- Self-study
- Using language to ask and answer questions about house facilities

- Have ss play a game of Bingo.
- Monitor the activity.
Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Have Ss open their books page 26.
- Tell ss that they are going to asking and answering questions about the
number of things in a room.
- Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the things.
- Explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation.
- Play the tape.
- Play the tape again.
- Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues.
- Teach new words and structures:
+ fans, mirrors, doors, windows
+How many ..are there?
There are ..
- Monitor the activity.
Activity 2. point and say.
- Have pupils look at each the picture.
- Ask pupils to identify the things.
- Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the
board.
- Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times.
- Ask Ss to practice in pairs.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class.
- Observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue.
Activity3. Let’s talk
- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 26.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say.
- Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles.
- Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles.
- Ask ss to work in pairs.
- Monitor the activity.
- Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue.

- Summary the lesson

- Tell pupils to read the part 1 again.
- Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern.
