WEEK 13 Tuesday, December 07th 2021 S: 3AT1; 3BT2 Period: 28 UNIT 9: WHAT COLOUR IS IT? Lesson 2 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the colour(s) of the school thing(s). - Sentence Patterns: What colour is it? / What colour are they? It’s __. / They’re __. - Vocabulary: box, blue, white, yellow, brown, green, orange 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/Quality: - Love their school - Ss work hard in the lesson. 4. Forming competence: - To know some colours - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. B. Language focus * Key terms: - Sentence Patterns: What colour is it? / What colour are they? It’s __. / They’re __. * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. * Warm-up - Call two groups of four to the front of the class. Have one group point to something that is near or far and ask Is this ? Or Is that And the other groups answer the question. - Give comments. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 60. - Tell ss that they are going to talk about colours using What colour is/ are? - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the colours in the picture. - Explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Monitor the activity. Activity 2. Point and say - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify the colours - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Activity3. Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 60. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. Task 4: Walk and talk. - Ask Ss walk around the class to introduce their school things. - Monitor the activity. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about colours. - Listen and number the pictures. - Read and match the sentences with the pictures. - Sing the song: My new pen. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening, reading, speaking and writing. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love their school school things - To keep their school things clean 4. Forming competence: - Know how to apply the things learned to communicate - Practise with partner B. Language focus * Key terms: gym, library, computer room, playground, big, small * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. Activity 1: Listen and number - Tell ss that they are going to listen and number the boxes. - Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c, d on page 61. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Guide Ss to do the task. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Replay the tape. - Have Ss to trade their answer in pairs for correction. - Give correct answer: a3 b4 c2 d1 Activity 2: Listen and write - Have Ss open their book page 61. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and write the correct words. - Give an example. - Ask ss to read and do the task. - Monitor the activity - Have Ss trade their answer in pair for correction. - Call on some Ss to report their answers. - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus. Activity 3: Let’s write - Tell ss that they are going to look at the pictures and fill the gaps. - Guide ss to do the task. - Ask ss to do the exercise. - Monitor the activity. - Ask ss to write their answers on the boards. - Check their answers. - Have the whole class repeat all the sentences. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. * Comment
