WEEK 10 Monday, October 7th 2022 C: 3CT1; 3AT2; 3BT3 Period: 37 UNIT 6: OUR SCHOOL Lesson 1 (4,5,6) A. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Language focus: - Listen to and understand four communicative contexts in which pupils ask and answer questions about their school - Read and complete three target sentence patterns with the help of picture cues. - Sing the song Our school with the correct pronunciation and melody. - Vocabulary: Review - Sentense pattner: Review 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading and writing. 3. Quality/Attitude: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: Tell the truth about feelings and emotions. - Diligence: Complete learning tasks. 4. PROCEDURE: I. Warm up. Game: Pass the ball *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Divide the class into 3 teams. - Each team has 1 sticky ball. - Play the music. Pupils in each team take turns to pass the ball. After the music ends, 3 pupils who have the ball stand up and say the words school, classroom, library, playground, then make sentences using the sentence model. - Let’s open your book page 35 and look at Unit 5, Lesson 1 (4,5,6) II. Listen and tick. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen to and understand two communicative contexts to ask and answer questions about a school. *Procedure: - Elicit the word for the place in each picture + How many pictures/numbers are there? + What can you see in each picture? - Point at the pictures respectively to explain the context and how to do the task. - Ask Ss to guess the answers and writes Ss’guessing on the board. - Play the recording for Ss listen. - Play the recording again for pupils to do the task. - Get Ss to swap books with their partners. - Play the recording again to check their answers together as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board. Then checks Ss’ guessing. - Play the recording, sentence by sentence, for the class to listen and repeat in chorus. - Give feedbacks Key: 1. b 2. a *Outcome: Pupils can listen to and understand two communicative contexts to ask and answer questions about a school. Look, match and read. *Aims: Ss will be able to complete three target sentence patterns with the help of picture cues. *Procedure: - Get Ss to look at the pictures and identify the places in the pictures. - Have Ss look at the first picture and incomplete sentence. - Model with sentence 1 - Ask Ss to read and match. When Ss answer correctly. - Tell them to draw a line to match the two sentence halves - Have Ss work in groups and match the sentence 2, 3 and 4. - Write the correct answers on the board. - Invite pairs of pupils to stand up and read the matched instructions aloud. - Give feedbacks. V. Fun corner and wrap-up. *Aims: Ss will be able consolidate and wrap up the content of the lesson by game. *Procedure: Game: Pop the balloons. - Divide the class into teams. - Teacher calls one pupil to answer the question Is this our ______? - Pupils/ teacher click on the “balloons” button to get points. Wrap-up - Ask Ss to answer the following questions: + What have you learnt from the lesson today? +What are the core values of the lesson? PROCEDURE: I. Warm up. Game: Guessing and Choosing *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - T shows 4 pictures of places and calls 4 Ss to come to the board and choose. - T asks 4 Ss to come to the board and choose 1 picture of place and keep them in secret by covering them. - The others will write their place in the board at their desks and keep their ides in secret. - The Ss on the board will 1 by 1 show their pictures they chose. - When the teacher says the word of the pictures 1 by 1 shown on the board, who has the same places will raise their board or raise their hands. - The Ss on the board will get the same points as the numbers of Ss raising their hands. - Let’s open your book page 46 and look at Unit 6, Lesson 2 (1,2,3) II. C Step 1: Have pupils look at the pictures and say the names of the places. Tell pupils about the activity. Step 2: Give pupils time to read the sentences and match them with the correct pictures. Step 3: Tell pupils to swap books with a partner, then check the answers as a class. Write the correct answers on the board. Extension: If time allows, invite some pairs to role-play situations 3 and 4. IV. Let’s play. To practise the target sentence pattern by playing the game Guess the place. – A picture showing pupils how to play the game – Flash cards for school, classroom, library, playground, computer room, art room, music room and gym Pupils can practise the target sentence pattern by playing the game Guess the place. Step 1: Hold up a flash card for the library and say: We like reading. Let's go to ____. Elicit the school room to complete the sentence. Show pupils the flash card and have them repeat the word and the sentence. Step 2: Hold up another flash card and continue with the game. Step 3: Divide the class into two teams. Each team plays the game in turn. If pupils in a team can guess the correct picture, they get a star. After three or four rounds, the team with the most stars is the winner. Step 3: Play the recording line by line for pupils to listen and repeat. Correct their pronunciation where necessary. Step 4: Play the recording all the way through for pupils to say the chant. Encourage them to clap along while they chant. Extension: Divide the class into two or more groups to take turns listening to and repeating the chant, while the rest of the class claps along. V.
