Find and circle the words. Then say, Let’s play
A.OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge:
- Vocabulary: review
- Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening)
2. Competences:
- Correctly pronounce and spell the words: pizza, popcorn, kitten, bike
3. Attitude/ Qualities:
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class.
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love food and activities,
love learning
English
B. METHODS:
- Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer.
- Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by
visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction.
C. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector.
- Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things.
D. PROCEDURES:

1.Warm- up:
Game: Guessing game
*Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary
that they learnt.
*Procedure:
-Have ss to look through 4 pictures( which - SS listen and play game.
is closed). T opens each piece of each
picture for ss to guess about the pets and
then read aloud name of the food.T checks -SS open their book.
and have ss read all the words.
- Say “Open your book page 12 and look at
Fun time 1 – Part 1, 2”
2. Practice
Activity 1. 1. Find and circle the words.
Then say.
*Aims: to correctly pronounce the words
:pizza, popcorn, kitten, bike
*Procedure: -Look at the picture and say.
-Have ss look at the pictures and say the
words, saying Look and say, please
-Ask ss to look at the word search, find and
circle the correct words in it individually.
Then say the words
-T models with the first word if necessary
- Have time for ss to do the task.
-SS listen and do the task
- T gives feedback
Activity 2. 2. Let’s play: Stand up! Sit
down ! *Aims: to recognize target words
while listening
*Procedure:
-Have ss look at the pictures. Explain how
the game is played: Teacher holds up a
flashcard and say a word. If the flashcard -Ss look and listen.
and the word are the same, ss stand up; if
not, ss sit still. Call some ss to stay the
correct word. -Ss play game.
- Model the position of the first letter.
- Instruct ss to imitate each position. Help
them practise this position until they
understand. Follow the same Procedure:
with the other letters. Give further support
to those ss who find it difficult to do the
task.
-Have the whole class play the game. Call
two ss to be the observers of the game. Give
out the commands and monitor how ss play
the game. The ss who cannot show the right
position will be out and become the
observers. Divide the class into two teams.
Each team plays the game. Give stars/points
to the winner. Ss can also give the
commands for other ss to play.

3. Homework
- Practice more at home.
- Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen.

- Write the words :pizza, pasta, kite, bike and complete the sentence pattern:
+ The______is yummy.
+ Is he/ she _______ (Ving) ? ->Yes, he/ she is./ No, he/ She isn’t.
- Correctly spell and pronounce the words: pizza, pasta, kite, bike.

the board.
- Ss look and try to remember the words.
- Ss go to the board and write the words. -SS open their book.
- T checks who’s winner?
- Say “Open your book page 13 and look
at Funtime 1 – Part 3,4”
2. Practice
Activity 1. 3. Look, read and write.
Then say aloud:
*Aims: to write the words :pizza, pasta,
kite, bike and complete the sentence
pattern:
A: The______is yummy.
B: Is he/ she _______ ( Ving) ? -
>Yes, he/ she is./ No, he/ She isn’t.
*Procedure:
-Have ss look at the pictures (pizza,
pasta, kite, bike) and say the words. -Look at the picture and
-Have ss spell the words : pizza, pasta, say.

- Call some ss to spell in front of the
class.
- Have time for ss to write the words:
pizza, pasta, kite, bike in pairs on the
small board, Then have ss to check their
writing in pairs.
- Call some ss to read the correct words
in front of the class. -SS listen.

Activity 2. Let’s play: Spelling chain: -SS read.
*Aims: to recognize target words while
listening.
*Procedure:
-T introduces the game: Spelling chain
and explains how the game is played: T
divides the class into two teams. The
team plays game stands in a circle. Give
flashcard with the first letter written to
the first team member. The rest of the
team work together to spell the word. -Ss look and listen.
Take turn to say a letter, move in a
clockwise direction from the first student
to the last one. It is done when all ss in a
team say the word aloud. A correctly
spelled and pronounce word scores one
point. -SS play game.
- Model the game with one group.
-Have ss play the game in groups one by
one. Support and give them help when
necessary.
3. Homework
- Practice more at home. -Ss listen.
- Prepare Unit 3 – Lesson 1
