WEEK 20 Monday, January 20th 2024 C: 2CT1; 2AT2; 2BT3 Period: 39 UNIT 10: AT THE ZOO Lesson 1: Listen and repeat, Point and say A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Language focus/Knowledge: - Sound /z/ - Vocabulary: zoo, zebra, zebu - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Correctly pronounce the name of letter Z/z and the sound /z/ in isolation. - Say correctly the words: zoo, zebra, zebu 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love animals, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Game: Guessing game *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: -Have ss to look through 3 - SS listen and play pictures (which is closed). Have ss 2 minutes to memorize their set. - Turn the card face down on the board. Explain that when you say a correct word you will have one point. -Have time for ss to play game. - Count the point for each team and announce the winner. The team with the most points wins. The winning team must then correctly pronounce all of the words. -Ss listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. Thursday, January 23th 2025 C: 2CT1; 2AT2; 2BT3 Period: 40 UNIT 10: AT THE ZOO Lesson 2: Listen and chant, Listen and tick, Look and write A.OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: - Sound /z/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: That’s a _______ - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Correctly pronounce the words zoo, zebra, zebu and say the sentence pattern: That’s a _______.in a chant. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love animals, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. Ask ss to make sure if they recognize the two forms of the letter. - Tell ss to trace the letter Z/z T can demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the broken lines of the -Ss listen. letter Z/z on the board. -Then let ss write the letter.
