WEEK 25 Monday, March 03th 2025 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 48 Unit 12: At the lake Lesson 2: Listen and chant, Listen and tick Look and trace A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - say the sound of the letter L/l and the words Lucy, lake, lemons in a chant. - recognize the words in different situations when listening. - trace the letter L/l and complete the words __ucy, __ake, __eaf, __emons - Vocabulary: review - Skills: speaking, writing and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Know how to chant exactly. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Play the game *Aims: to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1. *Procedure: - Have pupils play Kim’s game, -Ss play the game Pelmanism or Slap the board. Draw pupils’ attention to -Ss open the book the words they have learnt in the previous units. - Ask pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 2 Activity 1. 3. Listen and chant *Aims: Ss will be able to say the sound of the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck in a -Ss listen and answer chant. *Procedure: -Ss listen and chant the first - Have pupils look at the chant and line ask them to pay attention to the letter L/l and the word Lucy. -Ss listen, chant the first line - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get familiarized with the tune. -Ss listen, chant the other - Play the recording again, ask lines and clap their hands pupils to listen and repeat the first line. Then play the recording for -Ss listen and chant all the them to listen and repeat until they chant feel confident. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss chant in front of the class the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands. - Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus. - Select some pupils to the front of the class to chant and clap their hands. Activity 2 4. Listen and tick: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and tick the correct boxes. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pictures of -Look at the picture and Question 1 describe. and say what they can see. Check comprehension. - Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class - Play the recording of the first sentence for pupils to listen. - Ask pupils to say what they have -Point and say heard and ticked. - Play the recording and ask What -Ss do the task. did you hear? Did you hear “Look at the lemons” or “Look at the tomatoes”. Yes, “Look at the - Ss listen and check lemons”. So tick the box a. - Follow the same procedure with question 2. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Call a few pupils to the front of the class to point to the pictures and say what they have heard. *Keys: 1. A. lemons 2. B. lake Activity 3. 5. Look and trace: *Aims: Ss will be able to trace the letter L/l (upper case and lower case). *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the letter L - Ss listen (upper case) and l (lower case). - Ss do the task. - Write the upper case L and the lower case l in broken lines on the board. - Check to make sure pupils understand the letters written in solid lines and those in broken lines. -Check in pairs. - Tell pupils to trace the letter L/l. - Check the results of pupils’ -Ss show their work tracing and give feedback. - Ask some pupils to show what they have done. Praise them if they have done well, saying Well done! -SS listen. or You’ve done a good job! - If there is enough time, write the letter L/l in broken lines on the board and invite some pupils to trace them. - Practice more at home. -Ss listen - Prepare for the next lesson. Friday, March 07th 2025 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 49 Unit 12: At the lake Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “Look at (the) _____.” to express a command. - sing a song with the structures “Look at _____.” and “She’s/It’s _____. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentences ”Look at Lucy.” and ”Look at the lemons. *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture and point to the Lucy -Look at the picture and listen. - Explain the meaning of the -Listen and repeat. sentence and how it is used. Check comprehension. You may show a flashcard of Lucy and ask pupils to -Ss listen and repeat. look at it -Ss say in front of the class. - Play the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the -Ss listen and repeat sentence - Ask pupils to point to the sentence and say it -Ss listen - Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “look at ...” in front of the class. - Give feedback and praise Activity 2 7. Let’s talk: *Aims: Ss will be able to give a -Look at the picture and command, using ”Look at (the) describe. _____.” *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the bubbles. Explain the difference between Look at + name of people and Look at the + name of things. Check comprehension. - Point to Picture a and model the task, using the expression in the bubble and the word in the picture. For example, Look at Lucy. -Point and say - Ask pupils to say Look at Lucy in -Ss listen ans answer chorus and individually. Correct -Point and say pronunciation, if necessary. - Get pupils to work in pairs or in -Ss work in pairs groups to point to the pictures (a and b) and give commands, saying Point -Ss say in front of class to the pictures and say, please! Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Repeat the same procedure with the second structure ”Look at the _____.” -Ss look and listen. - If there is enough time, invite some pupils to point to their friends and things in the classroom and say the - Ss read the song sentences in front of the class Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structure “I have a _____.” *Procedure: -Ss listen and sing the first line - Have pupils read the first, the third, the fifth and the seventh lines of the -Ss listen, sing the first line lyrics. Explain the meaning of the numbers. - Ask pupils to point to the first line. -Ss listen, sing the other lines Play the recording for them to listen and clap their hands and repeat for several times. - Follow the same procedure with the third, the fifth and the seventh lines of the lyrics. Check -Ss listen and sing all the song pronunciation, the tune and the melody of the song, if necessary. -Ss sing in front of the class - Have pupils point to the second line. Play the recording for them to listen and repeat individually and in chorus. - Follow the same procedure with the fourth, the sixth and the eighth lines. - Play the recording all the way through for class to sing the song and clap their hands - If there is enough time, select some pupils to the front of the class to sing the song. - The class may sing along and clap their hands. - Practice more at home. -Ss listen. - Prepare for the next lesson.
