WEEK 21 Friday, February 07th 2025 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 41 Unit 10: At the zoo Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “That’s a _____.” to identify someone or something. - sing a song with the structure “That’s a/my _____. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: -Ss listen and sing - Ask the class to sing the chant again. Pay pupils’ -Ss open their book. attention to the pronunciation, stress and rhythm. - Tell pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3. . Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “That’s a monkey.” -Look at the picture, listen and *Procedures: repeat. - Have pupils look at the picture of a girl and her mother looking at a monkey. The mother says “That’s a -Ss listen and repeat. monkey”. Get them to repeat the -Work in pairs or in groups. sentence several times individually and in chorus. -Ss say in front of the class - Follow the same procedure with the other pictures - Ask pupils to work in pairs/groups, using “That’s a ____.” with the picture cues. - Select some pupils to practise identifying someone/something in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structure “That’s a/my ____.“ *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the lyrics to get -Ss look at the song and familiarized with the first verse of answer the song. Play the recording several -Ss listen and sing the first line times for pupils to repeat line after line to make sure that they can sing -Ss listen, sing the second line the verse correctly. - Follow the same procedure with the second and third verses. -Ss listen and sing all the song - Have pupils listen to the whole song, drawing their attention to the -Ss sing the song until they pronunciation, the stress and the feel confident melody of the song. - Let pupils practise singing the song. Let them sing the song several -Ss sing in front of the class times until they feel confident. - Select some groups to the front of the class to sing the song or ask some pupils to sing the song individually - Practice more at home. -Ss listen - Prepare for the next lesson.
