WEEK 16 Monday, December 23th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 31 Unit 8: In the park Lesson 3: Lesten and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “Touch your _______.” to express a command. - sing a song with the structure “Touch your_______. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Ss say - Remind pupils of what they have learnt in Lesson 2. -Ss listen and sing - Ask the class to sing the chant again, if time allows, saying Now -Ss open their book. let us sing the chant. Pay pupils’ attention to the pronunciation, stresses and rhythm. - Tell pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3. Introduce Lesson 3. Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “Touch your hair.” *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture of -Look at the picture and listen a girl touching her hair, saying .Look at the picture, please. Then ask pupils to look at the sentence, saying Look at the sentence “Touch your hair.”, please! Explain the meaning -Listen and repeat. of the sentence and how it is used. Check comprehension. - Play the recording several times -Ss listen and repeat. for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence in chorus, saying Now -Ss say in front of the class. listen and repeat, please! - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “Touch your -Ss work in pair and repeat hair”. in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary or praise them when they pronounced the sentence correctly, saying That’s OK! or That’s right! - Ask pupils to work in pairs, point to and repeat the sentence “Touch your hair.” - Give feedback and praise Activity 2 7. Let’s talk: *Aims: Ss will be able to express a command, using “Touch your _____. “ *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the first picture. Say Look at Picture a, -Look at the picture and please! Point to the girl’s hair and describe. ask them, saying What’s this? Tell them that it is hair, saying It’s hair. Follow the same procedure with other pictures in the activity. - Ask pupils to use the structure in the bubble “Touch your _____.” and Picture a (hair) to express a command, e.g. Touch your hair. Get them to repeat the sentence -Point and say several times individually and in chorus. Check comprehension. -Ss listen ans answer - Follow the same procedure with the other pictures in this activity. Make sure pupils understand the -Point and say structure “Touch your _____.” and -Ss work in pairs say it with the right pronunciation and intonation. Encourage pupils to -Ss say in front of class use gestures, face expressions, when saying the sentence. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to practise expressing a command, saying Now look at the picture and say, please! Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Select some pairs of pupils to practise expressing a command in front of the class. Praise them, saying Fantastic! or Superb!, if they performed well Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structure “Touch your _____.” *Procedure: -Ss look and listen. - Have pupils look at the lyrics to get familiarized themselves with -Ss listen and repeat. the first verse of the song. - Play the recording several times for pupils to repeat line after line to -Ss listen and sing. make sure that they can sing the verse correctly. - Have pupils look at the lyrics to get familiarized themselves with -Ss sing sentence by sentence the second verse of the song. Play the recording several times for -Ss sing the whole song pupils to repeat to make sure that they can sing the verse correctly. - Have pupils listen to the whole song, drawing their attention to the pronunciation, the stress, and the -Ss sing in front of the class melody of the song. - Let pupils practise singing the song. Help them sing the song sentence by sentence first. Then help them to sing the whole song. If there is time, let them sing the song several times until they feel confident. - Select some groups to the front of the class to sing the song or ask some pupils to sing the song individually. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen. Friday, December 27th 2024 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 32 REVIEW 2: PHIL AND SUE Listen and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing A.OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Listen and repeat the story. - Vocabulary: Revision - Structures: Revision - Skills: Reading and writing. 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love story Phil ans Sue, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: - Remind pupils of the names of the topics they have learnt from Unit 5 - Ss listen and answer to Unit 8. - Have them open the books and -Ss open their book. look at the story Phil and Sue. Activity 1. 1. Listen and repeat. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the story. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pictures. -Look at the picture and Ask them some questions, such as listen. Who are in the pictures? What are they doing?... Then have pupils guess the content of the story. Check comprehension. -SS listen and say - Have pupils look at Picture 1, saying Look at Picture 1, please!Draw pupils’ attention to the -Ss point and say boy, the girl and the bubbles (as mentioned in Input). - Let pupils listen to the recording, -Ss repeat point to the sentences in the speech bubbles and repeat, saying Now listen, point to the sentences and repeat, please! Check - Ss point and say comprehension. - Repeat the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. Give -Ss tell their answer in further support to those pupils who front of class find it difficult to do the task. - Play the recording of the whole -Ss listen. story several times and have pupils listen, point to the sentences in the speech bubbles and repeat until they feel confident. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Have pupils work in pairs, look at pictures and read aloud the story. Go around to help or/and correct pronunciation. - Play the recording again and invite a few pairs of pupils to listen to the recording and repeat the story in front of the class. Activity 2. 2. Look and circle : *Aims: Ss will be able to identify the words for the pictures by circling them. *Procedure: -Ss listen and repeat - Explain how to do the task, saying Look at the pictures, find and circle -Ss do the task the suitable words. - Ask them to identify the -Ss listen and say things/animals, saying What can you see in the pictures? Can you see the bag? Yes, it is the bag. Say the word “bag”, please! Ask pupils to repeat the word several times, saying -Ss work in pairs Repeat, please! Follow the same procedure with other pictures. - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and circle the words in the chain, -Ss listen saying Now use your pencil to circle the words. Give pupils time to work. Give further support for those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Ask pupils to work in pairs and to -Ss listen swap their work, saying Now work in pairs and check each other’s answers. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Invite some pupils to show what they have done. Praise them if they have done well, saying You did very well! or Great job * Keys: bag, goat, ball, gate - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
