WEEK 12 Monday, November 25th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 23 Unit 6: In the classroom Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing, A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “It’s a red _____.” to introduce things. - sing a song focusing on the structures “I have _____.”, “He has _____.” and “It’s a red _____ - Vocabulary: review - Skills: speaking, writing and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Know how to sing exactly. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love food, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Ss sing a song - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by asking the class to sing the chant -Ss open their book. in Lesson 2 and clap their hands. - Have pupils open their books and look at Lesson 3 -Ss listen. Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence It’s a red pen. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture, point to the pen and say. -Ss listen and repeat. - Point to the sentence “It’s a red pen.” And explain the meaning of -Ss point and say the sentence and how it is used. Check comprehension. - Get pupils to look at the sentence -Ss listen and repeat It’s a red pen. Play the recording several times for them to listen and repeat, saying Now listen and repeat, please! Correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Ss look and say - Show a real red pen (or a flashcard of a red pen) and ask pupils to look at it, saying Look at the pen, please! It’s red. -Ss point and say - Ask pupils to point to the sentence and say it, saying Point and say, please! Give further support to -Ss say in front of class. those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “It’s a red pen.” in front of the class. Knowledge: - identify some learnt words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish. - say the words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish correctly. - identify the letters they have learnt (I/i, E/e). - read the learnt words (chips, pen, pencil, milk) - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Have them look -Ss play the game at the picture. Tell them that you will draw one letter in the air with -Ss play the game your finger. The first pupil of each team that correctly identifies what you have drawn, if he/she identifies correctly, the team scores a point. - Model the first time with the pupils so that they can understand how to play. - Have the whole class play the game several times before they compete. - Divide the class into two teams. Call one or two pupils to be the -Ss listen observers of the game. Use all the letters pupils have learnt (I and E), both upper and lower case. Rememer to give points to the winner of each round. - Calculate the points and praise the winner -Ss listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
