WEEK 10 Monday, November 11th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 19 Unit 5: At the fish and chip shop Lesson 2: Listen and chant, Listen and tick, Look and trace A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - say the sound of the letter I/i and the words chicken, chips, fish and milk in a chant. - recognize the words in different situations when listening. - trace the letter I/ - Vocabulary: review - Skills: speaking, writing and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Know how to chant exactly. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. Check comprehension. - Encourage some pupils to point to -Point and say the pictures and say the words in front of the class -Ss do the task. + Play the recording of the first sentence for pupils to hear. + Point to the tick √ and ask pupils, saying What do you see? OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “I like _____.” to talk about someone’s favourite food/drinks. - sing a song with the structure “I like _____. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love food, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. And you have listened to tick the correct pictures. - Tell pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3, saying Now open your book on Page 25. -Look at the picture and listen. -Listen and repeat. Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk”. -Ss listen and repeat. *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture -Ss say in front of the class. and describe it. -Ss listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the sentence “I like milk” saying Look at the sentence “I like milk.”, please! -Ss listen - Play the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence. - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk” in front of the class. - Play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. - Play the recording again and let pupils listen and repeat the sentence “I like milk”. - Correct pronunciation to make sure pupils can repeat correctly the sentence. Activity 2 7. Let’s talk: *Aims: Ss will be able to talk about -Look at the picture and their favourite food/drinks, using “I describe. like _____. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the first picture. Point to the carton of milk and ask them. Follow the same procedure with other pictures in the activity. - Ask pupils to use the structure in the bubble “I like _____.” and Picture 1 (milk) to talk about their -Point and say favourite drink, e.g. I like milk. - Get them to repeat the sentence several times individually and in chorus. -Ss listen and repeat - Follow the same procedure with the other pictures in this activity. -Ss listen and answer Make sure pupils understand the structure “I like ____.” and say it with the right pronunciation and intonation. -Work in pairs or in groups. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to practise talking about -Ss say in front of the class favourite food/drinks. - Select some pairs of pupils to practise talking about favourite food/drinks in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song, using the structure “I like ________.” -Ss listen and answer *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the song and -Ss listen and sing the first line ask them to pay attention to the letter I/i and the word fish. -Ss listen, sing the first line - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get familiarized with the tune. -Ss listen, sing the other lines - Play the recording again, ask and clap their hands pupils to listen and repeat the first -Ss listen and sing all the song line. Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they -Ss sing in front of the class feel confident. - Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands. - Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the song individually and in chorus. - Select some pupils to the front of the class to sing and clap their hands. - If they sing the song well, praise them, saying Well done! or Very good. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen.
