WEEK 27 Period :105 Teaching date: Mondy, March 18th 2024 FUN TIME Activity 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - take part in three fun activities relating to their language knowledge and competences. - revise the spelling of five words: teacher, brother, driver, mother and worker. - improve their speed and flexibility when checking vocabulary. - use the target vocabulary and sentence patterns to carry out a survey. - identify healthy and unhealthy foods. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills:speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss about asking and answering Kindness: help partners to complete learning tasks Diligence: complete learning tasks Responsibility: appreciate kindness 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: Communication, planning and organization, stress tolerance, initiative Oral Oral Communication: let’s talk Self-control & independent learning: perform reading tasks. Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, textbook, computer, projector, flashcards, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm-up:5’ - Play game Hot Seat! *Aims: to help ss to be happy to learn new lesson. *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching playing game *Procedure: - Divide the class into 2 teams - SS play game. - Choose one student to sit in front of their team - Stand behind the student and write a word on the board. - Have the student in the hot seat listens to their team mates and tries to guess the word. - The first hot seat student to say the word wins a point for their team. Then change the Ss over, with a new member of each team taking their place in their team's hot seat. -SS open their book. -Say “Open your book page 38 2. New lesson Activity 1. - 1. Do the puzzle :10’ *Aims: To revise the spelling of five words: teacher, brother, driver, mother and worker. And improve Ss’ speed and flexibility when checking vocabulary. *Context: 1. a teacher 2. a brother 3. a driver 4. a mother 5. a worker *Teaching techniques: - techniques in teaching reading - individual, pairworks, ask and answer - using flashcards, recording, pictures *Procedure: -Have Ss look at the puzzle. Ask: Who do you see in the pictures? Quiz time. :10’ *Aims: to use the target vocabulary and sentence patterns to carry out a survey *Context: table for completion *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching playing game, pairworks, ask and answer - using flashcards, recording, pictures *Procedure: - Tell Ss that each of them needs to interview three different classmates to find out their favourite food or drinks. -Look at the picture and answer. - Gives Ss 10 minutes to circulate and complete their survey tables - After Ss have interviewed their classmates and taken notes, give them another 5 to 10 -SS do the task. minutes to prepare to share their findings. - Invite different Ss to come to the front of the class and share their findings.. *Outcome: Ss can use the target vocabulary and sentence patterns to carry out a survey Activity 3. Work in pairs. Circle the healthy foods :6’ *Aims: To identify healthy and unhealthy foods. *Context: Seven pictures showing both healthy and unhealthy foods *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching reading, groupworks, pairworks.. - using flashcards, pictures *Procedure: - Draw Ss’ attention to the pictures and elicit the names of the foods: apple, chips, water, rice, fish, noodles, cake. -Ss look and listen. - Put Ss into pairs and tell them to work together to circle the healthy foods. - Display a picture of an apple on the board. Ask Ss if it is healthy or unhealthy. When they answer correctly, write healthy under the picture and model it for Ss to repeat. Repeat the same procedure for the other foods. If a food is unhealthy, write unhealthy under the picture. -SS do the task. *Outcome: Ss can identify healthy and unhealthy foods. 3. Consolidation :3’ *Aims: to consolidate and wrap up the content of the lesson. - T tells Ss about the main content of the lesson. - T tells Ss about the educational aims of the lessons. 4. Homelink. 1’ -SS listen. - Practice more at home. -SS listen. - Prepare for the next lesson. Period 106 Thursday, March 20th 2024 UNIT 16: MY PETS. Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3) A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use the words birds, cats, parrots, rabbits in relation to the topic "Pets". - use some and many to identify the quantity of pets - use Do you have any .? – Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. to ask and answer questions about pets - listen to and demonstrate understanding of simple communicative contexts in relation to the topic "Pets". - Vocabulary: bird, cat, dog, parrot, rabbit, pet, any. - Model sentences: A: Do you have any cats? B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Sociability: Talk to each other, say good words to others. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: tell the truth about feelings and emotions B. Knowledge: - listen to and understand two communicative contexts in which pupils ask and answer questions about pets and tick the correct pictures. - read and complete four target gapped dialogues with the help of the picture cues. - sing the song My pets with the correct pronunciation and melody. - Vocabulary: Review - Skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. 2. Competences: - Critical Thinking: talk about names of the pets. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Self-control and independent learning: perform listening tasks. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: tell the truth about feelings and emotions. - Diligence: complete learning tasks. B.
