Lesson Plan (grade 11 – advanced) Period :70 Preparation date : 22/12/2007 Lesson : Revision of the first semester 3 I- Objectives : - to help Ss review whole knowledge which they leant from unit 1 to unit 7 - Ss can have the skill of doing examination tests II - language contents A. Grammar : Forming adjectives, Changing into reported speech B. Vocabulary : III- Techniques : Communicative approach. IV- Teaching aids : Textbooks, color chalk, photos, ruler … V- Procedures A. Classroom procedures (1’) - greetings and checking attendances. B. Review of the previous lesson C. New lesson : (42’) Teacher’s activities students’ activities Activity : Forming adjectives - Give each student a copy of the task below -Give the adjectives of the words below using suffixes –al, -ous, -ful, -able as appropriate - Have SS give the adjectives using suffixes –al, -ous, -ful, -able as appropriate - Call on SS to speak out the adjectives first, write them on the board -Go over the answers with the whole class. -Assign SS to speak out answers -Invite class opinions and give feedback Activity 2 : Changing into reported speech Ask SS to do exercises in the part: Grammar – task a, b, c textbook, p.54-55 in the textbook -Have SS put the adjectives into the correct column. -Call on SS to give the corresponding nouns -Go over the answers with the whole class. -Have SS repeat the nouns and then adjectives after teacher -Call on SS to say the words. - Make corrections if needed -Elicit the form of these adjectives: I. Forming Adj. 1. success …………… 2.poison …………… 3.believe …………… 4.adventure …………… 5.Wonder ……………. 6.Practice ………….. 7.fashion ……………. 8.nature. Reported verbs with: To – infinitive Ask , advise, promise, refuse, beg, refuse, beg, request… Gerunds Admit, deny, insist, apologize( for), criticize (for ),… Complete each of these sentences using a word from the box.
