PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm - up: (5’) - Ask Ss to play game “Brainstorming” Famous places in Viet Nam 2. Presentation: (15’) - Set the scene: Ba, Lan and their friends are going to go an interesting place in the vacation. - Explain new words: + want to do (v) + pagoda (n) + too # very + far (adj) + suggestion (n) + good idea + Let’s ….. + What about/ How about ….? + Why don’t we….? - Ask Ss to practice new words. - Introduce structure: * Make suggestion: + Let’s + V-inf …. + What about/ How about + V-ing ….? + Why don’t we + V-inf ….? * What does Lan want to do? ] She wants to …… 3. Practice: (13’) - Play the tape for Ss 3 times. - Ask Ss to practice the dialogue with partner. - Have Ss answer questions about Nam, Nga and Lan. - Call some Ss to read the answer. a/ Nams want to go to Hue. b/ Nga wants to go to Huong pagoda. c/ Lan wants to walk there. d/ Because it’s too far. e/ He wants to go by bike. f/ Because it’s too hot. g/ Ba wants to go by minibus. 4. Production: (10’) - Have Ss role plays: making suggestions about activities in pictures part 3/ p. 148 Ex: A: Let’s go swimming. B. That’s a good idea. - Call some pair to practice. 5. Homework: (2’) - Ask Ss to learn vocabulary and how to talk about vacation plans.
