CONTENT
- T. calls some Ss to answer the question: “What did you do during the summer vacation?”
- Form the questions& answers above, T. introduces the past tense.

A. Tenses:
a. The Simple Present Tense:
Ex: - We often go to school at 6.15
- My father gets up early every morning.
* S + V (e,es)
Do/does + S + V ?
S + do/does + not + V.
* Expressing a habit, the truth.
Adverbs followed: everyday, often, always
b. The Present Progressive Tense:
Ex: We are learning English now.
* S + is, am, are + V-ing.
S + is, am, are + not + V-ing
Is, am, are + S + V-ing ?
* Expressing an action happening at present.
* Adverbs: now, at the moment
c. The Simple Future Tense:
Ex: Nam will be 14 on his next birthday
* S + will/shall + V(inf)
S + will/shall + not + V(inf)
Will/shall + S + V(inf) ?
* Expressing an action that will happen in the future.
* Adverbs: Tomorrow, next
d. The Simple Past Tense:
Ex: Last summer, we went to Hue and visited the citadel.
