Lesson Plan 5 WEEK 34 Monday, May 17th 2021 S: 5AT4; C: 5BT2 Period 133 UNIT 20: WHICH ONE IS MORE EXCITING, LIFE IN THE CITY OR LIFE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE? Lesson 2: (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions to compare places( adjectives with three syllables) - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review - Practice skill: Listening, writing. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. * Chatting Ex: A: Which one is ..., ... or ...? B: I think ... A: Which one is more ..., ... or ...? B: I think ... - T asks, Ss answer. II. Listen and circle a, b or c. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a, b or c to answer the questions. - Play the recording more than once for Ss listen. - Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud. *Answer: 1 c 2. a 3.b 4.c III. Read and complete. - Tell pupils that they are going to look at a map and fill the gapped sentences. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say questions and answers with the correct intonation. Listen and read for specific information - Language focus: + Stress: sentences + Vocabularies: Review + Sentence patterns: - Phonetic: Which one is bigger, London or Hue? I think London is. - Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant. - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape. B. Procedures. I. Warm up: Chatting - The class chatting Ex: A: Which one is ..., ... or ...? B: I think ... A: Which one is more ..., ... or ...? B: I think ... II. Listen and repeat. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with the correct internation - Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times. - Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases, paying attention to the target sounds. - Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again. III. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say sentences aloud. Lesson 3: (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice reading and writing where you live. - Language focus: + Vocabularies: review + Sentence patterns: review - Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking . - Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. Let’s chant - Have class chant II. Read and do the tasks. Answer the questions. - Tell Ss that they are going to read the passage again and aswer the questions - Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Give time to do the task independently. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. Key: 1. She live in Liverpool 2. She often goes to king’s Lynn 3. King’s Lynn 4. Liverpool is. 5. Things in Liverpool are more expensive than in King’s Lynn. III. Write about your where you live. - Tell Ss that they are going to write about where they live. Have Ss read the informatons first, then write the answering. - Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write. - Give time to do the task independently. Project. - Tell Ss that they are going to compare the place where they live with another. - Ask them to work in groups. Give time limit for them to do the task. - Ss report the results of their interviews to the class. V. Colour the stars. - Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. - Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. (- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.) VI. Reinforcement. * Do Exercise - Have Ss do exercise F of unit 20 in workbook - T corrects and feedback. VII. Objectives: - By the end of the period, Students will be able to listen, read and identify specific information related to the theme Me and the world around. -Language focus: + Vocabularies: review Unit 16-20 + Sentence patterns: review Unit 16-20 -Practice skill: reading, writing, speaking. -Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: * Sing some songs - Have Ss review some songs. - Ss sing II. Practice. 1. Listen and tick. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes a,b or c of the pictures. Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures. Elicit the name of the characters. - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. - Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their partners before reporting them to the class. - Correct, remark. - Play the recording again to Ss repeat follow *Key: 1.b 2.c 2. Listen and number. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to four dialogues and number the correct pictures. Show Ss how to number the boxes. - Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify each activity. Check understanding. - Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen to and number the pictures. Read and complete. - Tell Ss that they are going to read a text and complete the table. Give them time to read the questions and answers in silence. - Ask Ss look at at the question first and then read the text and focus on the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs. - Have them swap their answers before checking as a class. - Ask Ss to read the question and answer aloud. Key: Tony: Sydney/big/modern/noisy/exciting Tony’ Gransparents: Brooklyn/small/quiet/peaceful. 5. Write about you. - Tell Ss that they are going to write sentences about themselves. Give them time to read the questions in silence. Check their understanding.. - Get them swap their writing and call someone to read aloud their answer. * Key: Ss’ own answers. III.
