Period 125 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT?
Lesson 1: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and
answer questions about which place someone would like to visit, using which
place.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing.
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
- T asks Ss answer
Ex: Which place would you like to visit, ... or ...? I’d like to visit ...
Is it far from here? Yes/ No ..
How can I get there? You can ..
- Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons
II. Listen and circle a, b or c.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and circle a or b to complete
sentences.
- Have pupils look at the text and answers. Check their understanding.
- Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their
answers.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Give feedback.

III. Read and complete.

- Tell pupils that they are going to look at a map and fill the gapped
sentences.
- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check
their understanding.
- Give them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing: Which place would you like to visit?
song.
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity

- Have Ss do exercise C of unit 19 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Lesson 2: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about someone’s opinions about a place
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: expected, attractive, exciting,
interesting, delicious
+ Sentence patterns: What do you think of ...? It’s more ... than I expected
- Practice skill: Listening, speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up: Chatting?
A: Which place would you like to visit, ... or ...?
B: I’d like to visit ...
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story about.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they
talking about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. Ask a few pairs to role-
play the conversation.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: What do you think of Tran Quoc Pagoda?
B: It’s more beautiful than I expected
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss, Ss –T, Ss – Ss, open pairs – close
pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering questions
about What do you think of ...? It’s more ... than I expected

- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.
- Teach some vocabulary: expected, attractive, exciting, interesting,
delicious
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat more times the phrases chorally and
individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.
Ex: A: What do you think of ...?
B: It’s more ... than I expected
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking questions about
the places that they would like to visit and what they think of them.
- Do the task with two Ss. Put questions and answers on the board and do
choral and individual repetition.
- Ask them to work in pairs to prepare exchanges based on the questions
provided.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: Where do you go ..? I went to
What do you think of ...? It’s more ... than I expected

- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. * Chatting

What do you think of ...? It’s more ... than I expected
- T asks, Ss answer.
II. Listen and circle a or b.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a or b to answer the
questions.
- Play the recording more than once for Ss listen.
- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.

A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to Say questions
and answers with the correct intonation. Listen and read for specific information
- Language focus: + Stress: sentences
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns:
- Phonetic: Which place would you like to visit,?
Trang Tien Bridge or Thien Mu Pagoda.
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures.
I. Warm up: Chatting
- The class chatting
What’s summer like? It’s usually ..
II. Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with
the correct internation
- Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a
few times.
- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say sentences aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and mark the sentence intonation.
Then say sentences aloud..
- Play the recording more than once for Ss listen.
- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.

- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.
IV. Let’s chant.
- Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant What do you think of it?

comprehension.
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the chant .
V. Reinforcement.
