Monday, April 12th 2021

Period 113 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT?
Lesson 1: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and
answer questions about What someone would like to eat or drink.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing.
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
- T asks Ss answer
Ex: A: What would you like to eat/drink?
B: I’d like , please
- Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons
II. Listen and tick.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and tick the boxes.
- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check
their understanding.
- Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their
answers.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Give feedback.
Key: 1.b 2.a 3.b 4.c
III. Read and complete.
- Tell pupils that they are going to look at a map and fill the gapped
sentences.

- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check
their understanding.
- Give them time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing: Healthy eating and drinking?
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise C of unit 17 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 114 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT?
Lesson 2: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about the quantity of food and drink.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: sausages, fresh, a glass bottle....
+ Sentence patterns: How many/much ... do you eat/drink every day? I
eat/drink ...
- Practice skill: Listening, speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up: Sing a song
- The class sing Where’s the bus stop?
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used
and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they talking
about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. Ask a few pairs to role-
play the conversation.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: How many apples do you eat every day?
B: I eat two apples
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss, Ss –T, Ss – Ss, open pairs – close
pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering questions
about the quantity of food and drink.
- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.
- Teach some vocabulary: sausages, fresh, a glass bottle....

- Ask Ss to listen and repeat more times the phrases chorally and
individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.
Ex: A: How many/much ... do you eat/drink every day?
B: I eat/drink ...
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking questions about
the quantity of food and drink.
- Do the task with two Ss. Put questions and answers on the board and do
choral and
individual repetition.
- Ask them to work in pairs to prepare exchanges based on the questions
provided.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: A: How many/much ... do you eat/drink every day?
B: I eat/drink ...
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise D of unit 17 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

answer questions about means of transport.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. * Chatting
Ex: A: How many/much ... do you eat/drink every day?
B: I eat/drink ...
- T asks, Ss answer.
II. Listen and circle a,b or c.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a, b or c for the answers.
- Ask Ss to read sentences and try to guess the best answers.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the
sentences. Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.
*Answer: 1.b 2.c 3.b 4.b
III. Read and complete.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and complete the conversation
between Mai and Tom. About Tom’s breakfast.
- Get Ss to read the conversation and choose the best answer.
- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

IV. Let’s play.
- Tell Ss that they are going to play Labelling foods and drinks in the food
pyramid.

- Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives
feedback

Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to Say questions
and answers with the correct intonation. Listen and read for specific information
- Language focus: + Stress: sentences
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns:
- Phonetic: What would you like to eat? - I like banana, please.
How much rice do you eat evere day? - I eat four bowls of rice every day.
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures.
I. Warm up: Chatting
- The class chatting
How many/much ... do you eat/drink every day?
I eat/drink ...
II. Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with
the correct internation
- Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a
few times.
- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a or b to answer the
questions.
- Play the recording more than once for Ss listen.

- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.

IV. Let’s chant.
- Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant Healthy food and drink.
- T explains how the game is played. Have Ss to read the chant check their
comprehension.
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the chant .
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise A of unit 17 in workbook
