Period 109 UNIT 16: WHERE THE POST OFFICE?
Lesson 2: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able able to ask and
answer questions about means of transport.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. * Chatting
Ex: A: How can I get to ...? You can ....
B: You can ....
- T asks, Ss answer.
II. Listen and write one word in each box.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and write one word in each box.
- Ask Ss to read sentences and try to guess the word to fill each gap.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the
sentences. Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.

III. Read and complete.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with the
answers.
- Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer.
- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.

- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

IV. Let’s play.
- Tell Ss that they are going to play Giving directions in groups of eight to
ten.
- T explains how the game is played.
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the question and put them on the board.
- Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives
feedback
V. Reinforcement.

- Have Ss do exercise E of unit 16 in workbook

Period 110 UNIT 16: WHERE THE POST OFFICE?
Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to Say questions
and answers with the correct intonation. Listen and read for specific information
- Language focus: + Stress: sentences
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns:
- Phonetic: Where’s the post office? - It’s opposite the stadium.
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures.
I. Warm up: Chatting
- The class chatting about directions
II. Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with
the correct internation.
- Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a
few times.
- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and circle a or b to answer the
questions.
- Play the recording more than once for Ss listen.
- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.

IV. Let’s chant.
- Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant How can we get there?
- T explains how the game is played. Have Ss to read the chant check their
comprehension.

Period 111 UNIT 16: WHERE THE POST OFFICE?
Lesson 3: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice
reading and writing about the direction.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking .
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Let’s chant
- Have class chant
II. Read and do the tasks.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and label the places on the
map.
- Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on
the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
Key: 1 bus stop 2 pear street 3 pharmacy 4 Tony’s house
III. Write the directions.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write the directions. Have Ss read the
informatons first, then write the answering.
- Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read their writing aloud.
Key: Answer vary.
IV. Project.

- Tell Ss that they are going to draw a simple map to show the way to your
home from your school.
- Ask them to work in groups. They should decide whose home they will
use to draw the map. They should write note to give directions from home to
their school.
- Give time limit for them to do the task.
- Ss report the results of their interviews to the class.
V. Colour the stars.
- Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the
statements aloud.
- Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain
objectives.
(- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.)
VI. Reinforcement.

Period 112 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT?
Lesson 1: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about What someone would like to eat or drink.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: packet of biscuits, a bowl of noodles, a
carton of lemonade, a bar of chocolate, a glass of orange juice, ...
+ Sentence patterns: What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like ..., please.
- Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss.
- Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Chatting
- The class talk about directions, to give directions from school to some
places such as: the post office, the market, their home...
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read and listen to a story.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? Where are
they?What are they talking about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: What would you like to eat?
B: I’d like a bowl of noodles, please. .
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss , Ss –T, Ss – Ss ,open pairs – close
pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions
about healthy food or drink.
- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.
- Teach some vocabulary: packet of biscuits, a bowl of noodles, a carton of
lemonade, a bar of chocolate, a glass of orange juice, ...
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat more times the phrases chorally and
individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.

- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.
Ex: A: What would you like to eat/drink?
B: I’d like , please. .
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering
questions about healthy food or drink.
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
- T writes them on the board.
- Ask students read again, Call some students read aloud.
Ex: A: What would you like to eat/drink?
B: I’d like , please.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise part B of unit 17 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback
VI. Homelink.
