WEEK 25

Period 97 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE
FUTURE? Lesson 2: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask for and
give reasons
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: look after, design, building...
+ Sentence patterns: Why would you like to be ...? Because I’d like to ...
- Practice skill: Listening, speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up: Sing a song
- The class sing What would you like to in the future?
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a story to find out what Mai and
Tony would like to be and why.
- Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the
language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? What are they
talking about?
- Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, poiting to the characters speaking. Ask a few pairs to role-
play the conversation.
- Write model sentence on the board.
A: Why would you like to be ...?
B: Because I’d like to ...
- Ss listen and repeat again. (T – Ss, Ss –T, Ss – Ss, open pairs – close
pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking for and giving reasons
- Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used.

- Teach some vocabulary: go camping, go shopping...
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat more times the phrases chorally and
individually. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
- Write the questions and answer on the board and Ss to repeat again.
Ex: A: Why would you like to be ...?
B: Because I’d like to ...
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking for and giving
reasons.
- Do the task with two Ss. Put questions and answers on the board and do
choral and
individual repetition.
- Ask them to work in pairs to prepare exchanges based on the questions
provided.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: 1. What would you like to be....? I’d like to be...
2.Why would you like to be ...? Because I’d like to..
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise
- Have Ss do exercise D of unit 15in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 98 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE
FUTURE? Lesson 2: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able able to ask for
and give reasons.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. * Chatting
Ex: 1. What would you like to be....? I’d like to be...
2.Why would you like to be ...? Because I’d like to..
- Ss answer.
II. Listen and circle a, b or c.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick correct pictures.
- Ask Ss to read sentences and try to guess the word to fill each gap.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the
sentences. Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.
*Answer: 1/ c 2/ a 3/ b 4/ c
III. Read and complete.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with the
answers.
- Get Ss to read the questions and choose the best answer.
- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

IV. Let’s play.
- Tell Ss that they are going to play A matching game.
- T explains how the game is played.
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the question and put them on the board.
- Invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questions. T gives
feedback
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise E of unit 15 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 99 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE
FUTURE? Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say sentences
with the correct intornation. Listen and read for specific information
- Language focus: + Stress: sentences
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns:
- Phonetic: What would you like to be in the future?
I’d like to be a nurse.
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures.
I. Warm up: Play Bingo game.
- The class play Bingo game, using words: pilot, writer, architect, patient,
astronaut,... Then get to make
II. Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with
the correct sentence stress
- Put the sentences on the board. Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a
few times.
- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds. Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say the sentences
aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and mark the sentence intonation with
arrows.
- Play the recording more than once for Ss listen.

- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.
IV. Let’s chant.
- Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant What would you like to be in
the future?
- T explains how the game is played. Have Ss to read the chant check their
comprehension.
- Give Ss time to do the game. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the chant .
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise A of unit 15in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 100 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE
FUTURE Lesson 3: (4,5,6)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice
reading and writing about what you would like to be and do in the future.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Reading, writing, speaking .
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures, tape.
B. Procedure.
I. Warm up. Let’s chant
- Have class chant
II. Read and tick True or False.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and tick T or F.
- Ask Ss look at and read sentences first and then read the text and focus on
the information they need to do the task. Ss work in pairs.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
Key: 1 T 2 T 3 F 4 T 5T
III. Write about the what you would like to be and do in the future.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write bout what you would like to be and do
in the future. Have Ss read the informatons first, then write the answering.
- Have them work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write.
- Give time to do the task independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ss to read their writing aloud.
Key: Answer vary.
IV. Project.
- Tell Ss that they are going to make a poster about what you would like to
be and do in the futureand tell the class about it.
- Ask them to work in groups. They should decide which accidents to select
and discuss how to avoid them.

- Give time limit for them to do the task.
- Ss report the results of their interviews to the class.
V. Colour the stars.
- Have Ss read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the
statements aloud.
- Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain
objectives.
(- If there is not enough time, ask Ss to do it as homework.)
VI. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise :
- Have Ss do exercise F of unit 15 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback.
VII. Homelink.
- Learn by heart vocab & structure
