WEEK 24 Tuesday, March 01th 2022 S: 5BT2; 5AT3 Period 68 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO IT? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Give intonation sentences correctly. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped answers. Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant : Healthy food and drink. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to stay healthy. - Have good eating habits. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: Revision C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book. - Audio track: - Song: Travel song - Computer & Projector: CDs player, stereo, TV, STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm up - Review the old lesson: invite some pairs of pupils to act out the conversation in Lesson 2, Activity 5. * New lesson Activity 1: Listen and repeat - Tell the class that they are going to practice saying question and answer with falling intonation. - Ask pupils to look at the book and listen - Play the recording for pupils to listen again and repeat. - Play it again to do choral repetition until they feel confident. - Ask pupils to say the questions and answers in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of class. Others pupils to give comments. - Gives comments. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 2: Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle a or b. - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Ask pupils to listen again and do the task - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. - Ask the class to read the sentences aloud. * Key: 1 a 2 b 3 a 4 a Activity 3: Let’s chant - Tell class that they are going to say the chant: Healthy food and drink - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant. - Put the class into three groups to practice chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers - Get them to practice chanting and doing actions in groups - Invite three groups to say the chant and do actions - Give feedback. - Ask the class to listen again and chant C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Tell pupils to practice chanting again at home. Tuesday, March 01rd 2022 ST3: 5AT4; ST5: 5BT3 Period 69 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Lesson 1 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about the weather. - Sentence Patterns: What will the weather be like tomorrow? – It will be ____ and __ - Vocabulary: cold, snowy / hot, sunny / warm, stormy / cool, cloudy 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Know how to keep body healthy - Love themselves, love nature. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the weather B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: cold, snowy / hot, sunny / warm, stormy / cool, cloudy C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book. - Audio track: - Song: Travel song - Computer & Projector: CDs player, stereo, TV, STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm up - Play a game: Slap the board (sunny/ rainy/ cloudy/ windy/ snowy....) - Lead into new lesson: + Write the title What will the weather be like tomorrow? on the board. + Have pupils say it aloud * New lesson Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Ask pupils to look at the picture and answer the questions ?Who are they ? ?What are they doing? - Ask pupils to look at the book - Play the recording for pupils listen to the tape - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Introduce new words: Forecast, foggy, cold, hot, warm, cool. - Say aloud for pupils to repeat. - Ask pupils to write down the new words in their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs and practice the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask pupils to give comments. - Give comments. Activity 2: Point and say - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about the weather, using: What will the weather be like tomorrow? It will be ... and ... - Introduce new words: snowy and stormy - Say aloud for pupils to repeat. - Ask pupils to write down the new words and the structure in their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the pattern. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 3: Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about the weather. - Get pupils to work in groups of four to ask each other’s future jobs. Remind them to use the pattern in their books - Set a time limit for the class to practice - Call some groups to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern Wednsday, March 02th 2022 ST4: 5AT4; ST5: 5BT4 Period 70 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the seasons in the other speaker’s country. - Sentence Patterns: What’s ___ like in your country? − It’s usually ___. There is / are ___. - Vocabulary: spring, cold, wind / summer, hot, flowers / autumn, cool, rain / winter, very cold, snow. 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love themselves, love nature. - Know how to protect yourself 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the seasons. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book. - Audio track: - Song: Travel song - Computer & Projector: CDs player, stereo, TV, STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm up - Spend a few minutes having the class play Bingo, using the weather words learnt in Lesson 1. - Ask pupils to make sentences with these words - Lead into new lesson. * New lesson Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story in which Nam and Peter are talking about the seasons and weather. - Introduce picture and ask some questions about the situations in the picture: ?Where are they? ?What are they talking about? - Ask pupils to look at their book and listen to the tape - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs. - Go around and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. - Others give comments. - Give comments. Activity 2: Point and say - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about the seasons and weather, using: What’s ... like in your country? It’s usually ... There is/are ... - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and teach the vocabulary: spring, summer, autumn, winter - Say aloud the word for pupils to repeat. - Call some pupils to repeat the words. - Ask pupils to write down in their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the pattern. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation Activity 3: .Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about the seasons and weather. - Get pupils to work in pairs to ask and answer. - Remind them to use the questions and answers in their books - Set a time limit for pupils to practice - Go around the class and offer help, if necessary. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Tell pupils to practice chanting again at home.
