Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about what happened in a story -Language focus: + Vocabularies: first, then, next, in the end, order, far, away,... + Sentence patterns: What happened in the story? First,/Then/Next,/In the end, ... -Practice skill: listening and speaking, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss. -Resources: Student’s book, poster, pictures and workbook. B. Procedure. I. Warm up. slap the board - The class play game: using go fishing, go skating, go swimming, go shopping.... II. Look, Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story is about - Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? Where are they?What are they talking about? - Play the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat. Repeat the same produce with the rest of pictures. - Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check Ss’ mistake when necessary. Ex: A: What happened in the story? Let’s talk. - Tell Ss that they are going to practise further by asking and answering questions about what happen in a story. - Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition. - Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Procedure. I. Warm up. Chatting - T asks Ss answer Ex: A: What happened in the story? B: First,/Then/Next,/In the end, ... - Review vocabulary and introduce new lessons II. Listen and number. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to and number the right pictures. - Have pupils look at pictures to identify the names of characters. Check their understanding. - Play the recording 3 times for Ss listen, do the task and check their answers. - Get Ss to swap their answers before checking as a class. - Give feedback. I think ... -Practice skill: Listening, speaking -Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape B. Procedure. I. Warm up: Sing a song - The class sing One upon a time song. II. Look, Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story. Have them look at the pictures and guess about characters in stories. Check their comprehension by pointing at each pictureto elicit their answer to the questions. - Have Ss to look at four pictures to discuss the context in which the language is used and ask them questions such as: Who are they? Listen and tick. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick correct pictures. - Ask Ss to read sentences and try to guess the word to fill each gap. - Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and complete the sentences.
