Period 133 Unit 20: What are you going to do this
summer? Lesson 2: (4,5,6)
A. Aims:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to further practice about what
someone plans to do.
- Develop Ss listening, writing skills
* Language focus:
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Asking and answering
- Where are you going this summer? + I’m going to
- What are you going to do this summer? + I’m going to .
II. New lesson:
1. Listen, circle and write:
- Have pupils look at 4 pairs of pictures given
- Get sts say aloud the information in each picture
- Let them guess the words in the blanks
- Give feedback
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the
pictures you hear and then write the words for each blank.
- Play the recording twice for pupils to listen, circle and write
- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.
- T gives the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
* Answer: 1. b ; 2. b 3. a 4. a
2. Look and write:
- Have pupils look at 4 pictures given
- Elicit the names of places and activities
- Ask pupils to say first
- Give feedback
- Have pupils to write the sentences

- Call on 4 pupils write on the board and other pupils write in their
notebooks in individuals
- Have pupils trade their answers in pairs for correction.
- Have pupils comment the answer on the board.

Period 134 Unit 20: What are you going to do this summer?
Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A. Aim:
- Ss will be able to master how to say the right stress sounds with some
words that have three syllables.
- Ss will be able to chant together
- Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills
* Language focus:
- Vocabulary: revision
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
Retelling the way to stress the words with three syllables
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and repeat:
- Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page
68)
- Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the stress
sounds with different words that have 3 syllables.
- Play CD for sts listen and repeat the words and sentences given
- Pronoun the word: de’licious
- Pronoun the word: e’normous
- Pronoun the word: No’vember
- Pronoun the word: De’cember
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each word and the
sentence to remember the stress.
- Give the notes how to stress rightly with the words with 3 syllables (on
the second sound)
- Have sts give more words to practice
2. Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud:
- Have pupils look at sentences and pairs of words given.

- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 dialogues and circle the
words
- Get sts’ answers
- Give feedback
* Key: 1- a; 2- a; 3-b; 4-b
- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and repeat.
- Play the recording for sts say along
- Have pupils practice saying the 4 sentences aloud
- Call some sts say in front of the class
3. Let’s chant: Where are you going?
- Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 68 written on it on the
board
- Tell pupils that they are going to chant
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Clap the
syllables.
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and
clap the syllables.
- Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest
of the class observe and give comments if possible.
III. Consolidation:
- Summary the lesson
- Do exercises E in workbook.

Period 135 Unit 20: What are you going to do this summer?
Lesson 3: (4,5,6)
A. Aim:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: do the reading comprehension
and writing task about what someone plans to do.
- Develop Ss reading, writing skills
* Language focus: revision
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Finding the words with 3 syllables

II. New lesson:
1. Read and complete:
- Have pupils open their books at Page 69
- Have sts read through the passage
- Elicit the content of the passage
- Tell pupils that they are going to read the passage about Phong and
his family plan to go for a holiday
- T reads – sts repeat
- Pupils read the individually
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Ask sts to read the passage given with 5 blanks and get information
from the passage to complete the sentences.
- Sts do the task in pairs
- Get sts’ answers
- Give feedback
* Answer key:

5. Write about the plan for your summer holidays:
- Elicit sts about information about plan to go for a picnic by answering the
questions given ne by one
- Get sts’ ideas -> Give feedback and contribute
- Ask sts to write base on the beginning words given
- Monitor and give model
- Pupils write individually
- Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary.
- Call one pupil to write on the poster and other pupils write in the
notebooks in individuals.
- Stick the poster with the pupil’s writing task on the board
- Have pupils comment the task on the board.
- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class.
* Suggested answer:
I’m going to Da Lat city next month.
I’m going there with my dad.
We’re going to stay in a hotel.
We’re going to see sceneryin Da Lat city, take a lot of photos.

B. Procedures:
I. Vocabulary: Brainstorming
- Get ss to brainstorming the words they’ve learnt.
* Places: pharmacy, bakery, bookshop, swimming pool, supermarket, sweet
shop, cinema
* Things: sweet, chocolate, medicine,
* Clothes: jacket, jumper, skirt, scarf, jeans, shoes, trousers, sandals,
* Phone number:
* Animals: kangaroo , crocodile, elephant, monkey, tiger, zebra, bear
* Comparatives with short adjs: taller, shorter
* Holidays:
- Get ss to read all the words in chorus, individually.
II. Sentence parterns:
