Period 129 Unit 19: What animal do you want to see?
Lesson 3: (3,4,5)
A. Aim:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: do the reading comprehension
and writing task about what animal they like and the reasons .
- Develop Ss reading, writing skills
* Language focus: revision
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
Matching
Animal Charactistics
tiger funny

II. New lesson:
1. Read and complete:
- Have pupils open their books at Page 63
- Have sts read through the email
- Elicit the content of the email
- Tell pupils that they are going to read the email about Mai and
Nam’s visiting at Thu Le park
- T reads – sts repeat
- Pupils read the individually
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Ask sts to read the passage given with 5 blanks and get information
from the email to complete the passage.
- Sts do the task in pairs
- Get sts’ answers
- Give feedback

5. Let’s write:
- Elicit sts about what animal they want to see and the reasons why or why
not?

- Ask sts to write base on the beginning words given

- Pupils write individually
- Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary.
- Call one pupil to write on the poster and other pupils write in the
notebooks in individuals.
- Stick the poster with the pupil’s writing task on the board
- Have pupils comment the task on the board.
- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class.
* Suggested answer:
I want to go to the zoo because I want to see some animals.
I want to see monkeys because they’re funny.
I want to see elephants because they’re big.

Draw and colour your favourite zoo animals

Period 130 Unit 20: What are you going to do this summer?
Lesson 1: (1,2)
A. Aims:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about
where someone plans to go.
- Develop Ss speaking skill
* Language focus:
- Sentence Patterns: - Where are you going this summer ?
+ I’m going to _____________.
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Network

II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat:
• Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 64
- Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures: Tom, Phong and Mai
- Elicit information from the pictures (at school yard, )
- Explain the meaning of the language practised
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the
appropriate line in their books.
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech
bubbles.
- Repeat the steps a few times.
- Some Ss role play and the others comment.
- Ask Ss to role play.
- Ask Ss to role play before the class
- get sts’ ideas about the model sentences:
- Where are you going this summer?

- Get sts say about the places in the pictures given
- Run through the names of animals in the pictures
- Sts listen, point and repeat along
- Explain the pattern:

- Ask pupils to point and say names of animals by asking and answing with:
“Where are you going this summer?”
- Have pupils look at places, use the model sentences to ask and annswer
about where they plan to go.

- Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class.
- The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible.
3. Consolidation:

A. Aims:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice asking and answering
where someone plans to go
- Develop Ss’ listening and writing skills
* Language focus:
- Sentence Patterns:
- Where are you going this summer?
+ I’m going to Ha Long bay.
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
Passing the ball
- Where are you going this summer?
+ I’m going to Ha Long bay.
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and tick:
- Have pupils look at 3 friends and places given
- Get sts say aloud one by one
- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and tick the
correct person with place he/she plans to go
- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick.
- Compare the answers with the partners.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.
- T gets the answer:
- Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Look and write:
- Have pupils look at the places given

- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class.
- Have the class chorally read each line.

III. Consolidation:
1. Let’s sing:
- Introduce the song “You are happy in summer holidays!”
- Play the recording and listen the song.
- Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm.
- Call on a group of four to the front of the class and do the actions.
- The others clap their hands after the song
- Group work. Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of
the class sing the song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation
