Period 109 UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP
Lesson 2: (4,5,6)
A. Aims:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to further practice asking for and
giving for reasons to go somewhere.
- Develop Ss listening, writing skills
* Language focus:
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Asking and answering
- show some places, ask:
+ Where do you want to go?
+ Why do you want to go to the .?
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and circle:
- Have pupils look at the uncomplted sentences given with places and
things to buy
- Get sts read aloud the words
- Let them guess the words in the blanks from the words given
- Give feedback
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the
words they hear to complete the sentences.
- Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and circle
- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.
- T gives the answer:

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Look and write:
- Have pupils look at pairs of things and activities given in the pictures
- Elicit the content in each picture
- Ask pupils to read the questions one by one
- Get sts about the answer for each question
- Give feedback
- Have pupils to write the answers
- Call on 3 pupils write on the board and other pupils write in their
notebooks in individuals
- Have pupils trade their answers in pairs for correction.
- Have pupils comment the answer on the board.
- Give feedback

Period 110 UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP
Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A. Aim:
- Ss will be able to master how to say the right stress sounds with words
that have one or more syllables
- Ss will be able to chant together
- Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills
* Language focus:
- Vocabulary: revision
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Writing
- Have sts come to the board and write the words that have one – 4
syllables
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and repeat:
- Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page
44)
- Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the stress
sounds with different words that have one to four syllables.
- Produce the sounds with word one syllable: /book/
- Pronoun the word: ‘book/shop
- Pronoun the word: ‘ba/ke/ry
- Pronoun the word: su/’per/mar/ket
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each words to know
their stresses.

- Give the notes how to stress rightly with the words 2-4 syllables
- Have sts give more words to practice
2. Listen, circle and write. Then say aloud:
- Have pupils look and read the uncompleted sentences given.
- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 sentences and circle the
words they hear to fill in the gaps.
- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and write.
- Compare the answers with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer:
Answer: 1- a 2- b 3- b 4- a
- Have pupils practice reading the whole sentences
3. Let’s chant: Why do you want to ?
- Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 44 written on it on the
board
- Tell pupils that they are going to chant
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read.
Clap the syllables.
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and
clap the syllables.
- Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest
of the class observe and give comments if possible.
III. Consolidation:
- Summary the lesson
- Do exercises E in workbook

A. Aim:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: do the reading comprehension
and writing task about where someone want to go and the reasons.
- Develop Ss reading, writing skills
* Language focus: revision
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
Matching

II. New lesson:
1. Read and number:
- Have pupils open their books at Page 45
- Elicit the content of pictures given
- Tell pupils that they are going to read a passage about Phong and
Mai to get the information.
- T reads – sts repeat
- Pupils read the individually
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Ask sts get information from the passage to number the pictures in
correct order.
- Sts do the task in pairs
- Get sts’ answers
- Give feedback

5. Look and write:
- Elicit sts about places given
- Have pupils answer the following questions:
- Where does he/ she want to go? Why?

A. Aims:

prices of clothes (singular).
- Develop Ss speaking skill
* Language focus:
- Sentence Patterns: - How much is the ___________?
+ It’s_____________.
* Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Counting
` 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, . 100, .1000
T: I want to go to the bookshop.
Sts: Why do you want to go to the bookshop?
T: Because I want to buy a book.
? How to make a question when you want to know about price of
something.
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat:
• Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 46
- Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures: Mai, Phong, mum and
shop keeper
- Elicit information from the pictures
- Explain the meaning of the language practised
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the
appropriate line in their books.
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech
bubbles.
- Repeat the steps a few times.
- Some Ss role play and the others comment.
- Ask Ss to role play.
- Ask Ss to role play before the class
- get sts’ ideas about the model sentences:

2. Point and say:
- Get sts say about the names of clothes and the price given
- Run through the names of clothes and price given
- Sts listen, point and repeat along
- Explain the pattern:

- Ask pupils to point and say about the prices by asking and answing with:
“How much..?
- Have pupils look at the clothes and prices to practice in pairs to ask and
answer aboout the prices.

- Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation
- Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class.
- The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible.
3. Consolidation:
a. Free practice:
- Have sts work in pair to ask and answer about prices with the clothes in
part 2 and others freely

- Have sts copy down the words and model sentences:
