WEEK 21
Monday, February 01th 2021

Period 81 UNIT 12: WHAT DOES YOUR FATHER DO?
Lesson 3: (1,2,3)
A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce
correctly the sound
of the letters “ie” and “ea”. Listen and read for specific information.
- Language focus: + Phonics: the letter /ie/, /ea/
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns: Review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures:
I. Warm up: Say the pairs words (jobs – places)
Ex: doctor - hospital
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and repeat:
- Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page
16)
- Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sound /ie/
and /ea/ with different words.
- Produce the sound /ie/ in field, piece, sound /ea/ teacher and reading a
few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear the
sound.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the
speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation.
- Give the notes how to pronoun /ie/ and /ea/ in different words
2. Listen and circle. Then say sentences with the circled words:
- Have pupils look and read the uncompleted sentences given.
- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen the 2 words and circle the
words they hear.
- Play the recording twice pupils for listen and repeat.

- Compare the answers with the partner.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer:

- Have pupils practice reading the whole sentences
3. Let’s chant: Jobs and places of work
- Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 16 written on it on the
board.
- Tell pupils that they are going to chant.
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read.
Clap the syllables.
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and
clap the syllables.
- Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest
of the class observe and give comments if possible.
III. Consolidation:
- Summary the lesson
- Do exercises E in workbook.

2. Write some verbs form using with He/ She
II. New lesson:
1. Read and complete:
- Have pupils open their books at Page 17
- Show a photo of Phong.
- Tell pupils that they are going to read the passage about Phong’s
family members’ jobs to get the information.
- T reads – sts repeat.
- Pupils read the passage individually
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Ask sts get information from the passage to complete the table
- Sts do the task in pairs
- Get sts’ answer
- Give feedback

5. Write about the jobs of your family members and where they work:
- Have pupils answer the following questions:

- Pupils write individually

There are four people in my family. My father is a worker.

6. Project:
Interview two classmathes about their parents’ jobs

Lesson 1: (1,2)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
the questions about about favourite food and drink.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: words about food and drink
+ Sentence patterns: What’s your favourite food/ drink?
- It’s.....
-Practice skill: listening and speaking
-Resources: Student’s book, tape, pictures...
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Telling
- Have Ss retell about your family.
1. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to look at the four pictures and read the story,
then ask and answer questions about their favourite food and drink.
- Ask Ss to look at four pictures to identify the characters and discuss the
context in which the language is used. Ask Ss some question Who are they?
Where are they? What are they doing? .
- Play the recording more than once to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Call some pairs to read the conversation.
- Write the whole sentences on the board.
A: What’s your favourite food/ drink?
B: - It’s beef
- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
2. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering questions
about favourite food
and drink.
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit the words to fill the gaps.
- Give vocabulary: beef, pork, orange, juice, milk, water, chicken

- Write the whole sentences on the board. Divide the class into two groups
to do choral and individal repetition. Ss repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat
the procedure with the second picture.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
Ex: A: What’s your favourite .?
B: It’s .
- Ss point and read the tape.
- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
3. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering more
activities
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: A: What’s your favourite .?
B: It’s .

Lesson 1: (3,4,5)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
the questions about Offering someone food or drink and accepting or declining
someone’s offer
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: noodles,bread, rice, lemonade, coffee,
tea
+ Sentence patterns: Would you like some bread? - Yes,
please/ No, thanks
- Practice skill: Listening ,speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: Network
Food Drink
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and tick:
- Have pupils read the 3 questions given with food and drink
- Get sts say aloud
- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and tick the
correct pictures with their favourite food and drink.
- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct answers.
- Compare the answers with the partners.
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.
- T gets the answer:
- Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Look and write:
- Have pupils look at the pictures with kinds of food and drink given
- Ask pupils what they do this part
- Tell them that they are going to write the answer base on the pictures
- Have pupils work in pairs to look at the food and drink to give out the
answer.

- Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the
notebooks in individuals.
- Have pupils discuss their answers in pairs for correction.
- Have pupils comment the answer on the board.

III. Consolidation:
1. Let’s sing:
- Introduce the song “My favourite food and drink”
- Play the recording and listen the song.
- Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm.
- Call on a group of four to the front of the class and do the actions.
- The others clap their hands after the song
- Group work. Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups.
- Monitor the activity and help them when necessary. Correct pronunciation
Ss’ errors.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of
the class sing the song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.
