WEEK 20

Period 77 UNIT 12: WHAT DOES YOUR FATHER DO?
Lesson 1: (1,2)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
the questions about about someone’s jobs.
- Language focus:
+ Vocabularies: worker,doctor, driver, farmer, bisineseman, housewife
+ Sentence patterns: What does your father/ mother do? He/She’s a doctor.
- Practice skill: listening and speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, tape, pictures...
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
- What do you do in your daily routine.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ss that they are going to look at the four pictures and read the story.
- Ask Ss to look at four pictures to identify the characters and discuss the
context in which the language is used. Ask Ss some question Who are they?
Where are they? What are they doing? .
- Play the recording more than once to listen and repeat. Do choral and
individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Call some pairs to read the conversation.
- Write the whole sentences on the board
A: What does your father/ mother do?
B: He/She’s a doctor.
- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering questions
about someone’s job.
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit the words to fill the gaps.

- Give vocabulary: worker,doctor, driver, farmer
- Divide the class into two groups to do choral and individal repetition. Ss
repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
Ex: A: What does your father/ mother do?
B: He/She’s a doctor.
- Ss point and read the tape.
- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering more
activities
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: A: What does your father/ mother do?
B: He/She’s a doctor.
V. Reinforcement.
Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise B of unit 12 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 78 UNIT 12: WHAT DOES YOUR FATHER DO?
Lesson 1: (3,4,5)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
the questions about someone’s job. And listen for specific information.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review.
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing.
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: * Chatting
Ex: A: What does your father do?
B: He’s a doctor.
- T asks Ss say aloud.
II. Listen and tick.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the dialogue about someone’s
job and tick correct pictures
- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the time and differences and listen
and check understanding.
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for Ss to listen to and
tickthe correct pictures.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as class.
*Key: 1b 2 b 3a
III. Look and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to answer about the jobs shown in the picture
cues.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and write the answer the missing words they
need to complete the answers. Check understanding.

- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ss swap their answer in pairs.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.

4. is a driver 5. is a factory worker 6.a pupil.
IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song: My family
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise C of unit 12 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

B. Procedure:
I Warm up:
- Have Ss sing a song on page 13
- Call some Ss to play.

A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write to ask and
answer questions about the places to work.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing. playing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures .
B. Procedure
I. Warm up: Chatting
- Tell Ss that they are going to answer the question .
- Call some pairs to talk in front of the class
Ex: A: Where does a doctor work?
B: A doctor works in a hospital.
4. Listen and number.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to some one’s works.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify what the characters in eache
picture
- Check Ss’ understanding.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and number the pictures
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and check their anwser.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- Ask a few questions to ensure their comprehension for the listening text.
*Answer: 1. c 2. a 3.d 4.b
5. Look and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write some one’s job, using the picture cues.
- Ask them to look at pictures and sentences to find the suitable words to
fill.

- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class and call some
Ss to read aloud the completed text.

6. Let’s play. Pelmanism.
- Tell Ss that they are going to play game Pelmanism. Follow the procedure
in Games in introduction.
- Ask them to play small groups.
- Call on some of them to say the answers.
II. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise.
- Have Ss do exercise E of unit 12 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback
III. Homelink.
- Learn by heart vocabulary and structure.
