WEEK 18 Tuesday, January 11th 2022 C: 4AT1; 4BT2; 4CT3 Period 50 UNIT 13: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MILK? Lesson 1 (1, 2) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES I. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the someone’s favourite food and drink. - Sentence Patterns:What your favourite ______? − It’s ______. - Vocabulary:food, beef / food, pork / drink, orange juice / drink, water 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence: - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. Language focus * Key terms: food, beef / food, pork / drink, orange juice / drink, water * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What your favourite ______? − It’s ______. C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have Ss Sing the chant “Jobs and places of work” Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story in which pupils ask and answer questions about food and drink, using What’s your favourite food/drink? It’s . - Have Ss look at picture and answer the questions “who are they? Where are they?, what are they saying?”. - T plays the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and point to the appropriate line in their books. - T plays the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines. - Divide the class into 2 groups. Ask the groups to repeat Mai and Tom’s parts. Repeat the step a few times but this time ask the groups to swap their parts. Activity 2: Point and say - T has Pupils look at Picture a, b, c, d, e. Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about their favourite food and drink, using What’s your favourite food/drink? It’s . - Help them to identify food and drink in the pictures. - Tell pupils to look at the pictures and say the words: food, drink, beef, pork, orange juice, water. - T models with a Student the first picture - T asks Pupils to practise in pairs ask and answer the questions What’s your favourite food? It’s beef. - Monitor the activity. - T calls on some pairs to perform the task at the front of class. -T has the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. - Have Ss practice to ask and answer about their favourite food and drink. - Practise asking and answering question about their favourite food and drink, using What’s your favourite food/drink? It’s . C. Production - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. D. Homework - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the structure. Wednsday, January 12th 2022 S: 4AT1; 4BT2; 4CT3 Period 51 UNIT 13: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MILK? Lesson 2 (1, 2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Offer someone food or drink and accept / decline someone's offer. - Sentence Patterns: Would you like to some ______? ̶ Yes, please. / ̶ No, thanks. - Vocabulary: bread, rice, vegetable, lemonade 2. Skills. - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Educate Ss how to keep healthy 4. Forming competence: - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. Language focus * Key terms: bread, rice, vegetable, lemonade * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Would you like to some ______? ̶ Yes, please. / ̶ No, thanks C. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have Ss sing the song “My favourite food and drink”. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Tell Ps that they are going to read a story in which the characters offer food and drink, using Would you like some ? And accept/decline offer, using Yes, please./ No, thanks. - Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures and ask them some question such as Who are they?/ Where are they?/ What are they saying - Play the recording again for Ps to listen and repeat. If time allows, ask a few pairs to role play the conversation. Activity 2: Point and say. - Tell Ps that they are going to practice offering someone food/drinks and accepting or decline someone’s offer. - Ask them look at the picture and the words under them. Listen and repeat the words. “bread, rice, vegetables and lemonade.” - Have pupils repeat each word a few times. - Point to picture a and have pupils repeat the words bread. - Do choral and individual repetition and then ask pupils to practice asking and answering the questions in pairs. - Ask Ss practice offering someone food/ drinks and accepting or declining someone’s offer. - Call some pairs to act out the dialogues in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. Activity 3: Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to revise what they have learnt in lesson 1 and 2. - Get them to work in pairs, ask and answer two questions. Remind them to answer with facts about themselves. What’s your favourite food/ drink? And Would you like some .? - Call a few pairs to act out their conversation. - Encourage Ps to observe and give comments in English. - Get Ps to practice asking and answering about food and drink. C. Production - Select some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. D. Homework - Review the language of the lesson. Friday, January 14th 2022 S: 4BT2; 4AT3; 4C4 Period 52 UNIT 13: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MILK? Lesson 3 (1, 2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the final letters f in beef and leaf, and the final letter clusters sh in fish and dish. - Listen and tick the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant Would you like some fish? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity. B. Language focus * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have Ss play game “ Pass the secret” using the name of food and drink. Activity 1: Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying the sound of the letters f and sh in the word beef, leaf, fish, dish respectively. - Put the letters f and shon the board. Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. - Put the words beef, leaf, fish, dish and four sentences on the board - Get some Ps to say the sentences in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary Activity 2: Listen and write. Then say aloud. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the four sentences and tick the correct words. - Ask them to look at the sentences and guess the words to fill the gaps in groups. - Play the recording so they can listen and tick the words. Remind Ps to focus on the words with the letters f and sh while listening. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers. - Ask Ps to read aloud the sentences - Key : 1.a 2.b 3. a 4. b - Play the recording to check if necessary. Activity 3: Let’s chant. - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant Would you like some fish? follow the procedure in teaching the Unit components in introduction - Have them read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording line by line for Ps listen and repeat. - Play the recording all the way through for Ps listen and repeat. - Show Ss how to chant and do the action - Divide the class into four groups to chant. - Call two groups chant and do the action in front of the class. The rest of the class claps along the rhythm - Play the recording again - Underline the words contain sounds f and sh C. Production - Retell the content of the lesson. D. Homework - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures
