WEEK 16
Monday, December 28th 2020

Period 61 UNIT 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY ?
Lesson 1: (3,4,5)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer
questions about where someone was in the past. And listen for specific
information.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: review.
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and singing.
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures and recording
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: * Chatting
Ex: A: Where were you yesterday?
B: I was at home.
- T asks Ss say aloud.
II. Listen and tick.
- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the dialogue about where
someone were and tick correct pictures
- Have pupils look at pictures to identify the similarities and differences
and listen and check understanding.
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for Ss to listen to and
tickthe correct pictures.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as class.
*Key: 1c 2 b 3a
III. Look and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to answer the questions about where someone
was in the past

- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and the questions and answer the missing
words they need to complete the answers. Check understanding.
- Give them time to do the task independently.Go around and offer help, if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ss swap their answer in pairs.
- Call some Ss to read aloud the complete sentences.
*Key: 1. at home/in the kitchen 2. in the library/ at school 3. on
the beach
IV. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song: Where were you yesterday?
- Get Ss to read line of the lyrics. Play the recording all the way through.
- Ask Ss to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.
- Ask a group of four to the front of the class to sing the song.
- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the
activity.
V. Reinforcement.

- Have Ss do exercise C of unit 10 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback

Period 62 UNIT 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY ?
Lesson 2: (1,2,3)
A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to Ask and
answer the questions about what someone did in the past.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies: V+ed
+ Sentence patterns: What did you do yesterday? – I played table
tennis
- Practice skill: Listening ,speaking
- Resources: Student’s book, pictures, tape
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
- Have Ss chant the play on page 59
- Call some Ss to play.
II. Look, Listen and repeat.
-Tell Ss that they are going to learn to ask and answer about what someone
did in the past.
- Have Ss look at the picture and identify the characters and the context in
which the language is used.
- Play the recording more than once. Ss listen and repeat.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Call some pairs to read the conversation.
- Write the whole sentences on the board
A: What did you do yesterday?
B: I played table tennis.
- Ss point and read after T , T-Ss, Ss- Ss ( open pairs/ close pairs)
III. Point and say.
- Tell Ss that they are going to asking and answering questions about what
someone did in the past.

- Point to each character in the picture and the words to fill the gaps.
- Give vocabulary: V_ed
- Divide the class into two groups to do choral and individal repetition. Ss
repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs practice in front of the class.
- Check Ss’ mistake when necessary.
Ex: A: What did you do yesterday?
B: I played table tennis.
IV. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise asking and answering more
activities.
- Get them to work in groups of four and remind them to use the questions
and answers in this section. Ss do choral and individual repetition.
- Call on a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
Ex: Where were you yesterday?/ What did you do yesterday?

A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to write to ask
and answer questions about what people did.
- Language focus: + Vocabularies:review
+ Sentence patterns: review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing .playing.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures .
B. Procedure
I. Warm up. * Chatting
- Tell Ss that they are going to answer the question .
- Call some pairs to talk in front of the class
Ex: A: What did you do yesterday?
B: I played table tennis.
II. Listen and number.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen four dialogues and number the
pictures. Show Ss how to number the boxes.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify each activity.
- Play the recording more than one for Ss to listen and number the pictures.
Do the task and check their answer.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before you check as a class.
- T gives feedback.
*Answer: 1. b 2. c 3. a
III. Look and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to anser the questions about where the
characters were and what they did, using the picture cues.
- Ask them to look at pictures to didentify and write the answers the
questions about where the characters were and what they did.

- Ask them to play small groups.
- Call on some of them to say the answers.

Period 64 UNIT 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY?
Lesson 1: (1,2,3)
A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to pronounce
correctly the sound of the letters“ ed /d/ ”, “ ed/t/”,“ ed/id/”. Listen and read for
specific information.
- Language focus: + Phonics: the letter /ed/
+ Vocabularies: Review
+ Sentence patterns: Review
- Practice skill: Listening, writing and speaking chant.
- Resources: Student’s book, posters, pictures and tape.
B. Procedures:
I. Warm up: *Slap the board
- Have Ss play the game Slap the board.
- Work in groups to play the game
Learned V-ed listened
- Guide Ss to talk about V-ed
II. Listen and repeat. * Phonics.
- Student practice how to pronounce the letter “ed “
Ex: - ed /id /: wanted, needed
- ed /t I : worked, laughed, watched
- ed /d/: learned, listened
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the letters
“ed”. in the
Words: played, watched and painted street respectively.
- Put the letters “ ed” on the board.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat a few times.

- Play the recording a few times and let Ss say the words and phrases,
paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds.
- Call Ss repeat again.
III. Listen and circle. Then say aloud.
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the right
words and read the sentences aloud
- Play the recording more than once.
- Give Ss time to write the words in the gaps independently.
- Have them swap their answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences aloud.
*Key: 1. /d/ 2. /t/ 3. /id/
IV. Let’s chant. What did he do yesterday?
- Tell Ss that they are going to say and chant.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen.
- Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line and clap the syllables.
- Divide the class into two. One group repeats each line of the chant, the
other clap the syllables.Repeat the step but this time the groups swap their parts.
- Call some volunteers to recite the chants. The rest of the class clap the
syllables.
- Ask all the class repeat the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
V. Reinforcement.
* Do Exercise :
- Have Ss do exercise A of unit 10 in workbook
- T corrects and feedback
