WEEK 12 Monday, November 29th 2021 S: 4AT1; 4BT2; 4CT3 Period 32 UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? Lesson 3 (1, 2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the initial letter clusters fl in flying, and pl in playing. - Listen and circle the correct letters showing the correct verb phrases filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant: Flying a little kite. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening & writing skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Confident when talking English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - Know how to practise some sounds - Practise in pairs B. Language focus * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Have the class to sing a song: This is the way - Lead into new lesson Activity 1: Listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters fl and pl in the words Japan and Vietnamese respectively. - Put the phonics letters fl and pl on the board and say them a few times. - Ask pupils to look at their book, then play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. - Ask pupils to read the letters, words and sentences until pupils feel confident. - Get some pupils to say the letters, words, and sentences in front of the class. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation Activity 2: Listen and circle. Then say aloud - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the correct phrases to complete the sentences. - Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the phrases to fill the gaps. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and circle. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. - Ask pupils to read aloud the sentences. * Key: 1 b 2 a 3 b 4 a Activity 3: Let’s chant - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant: Flying a little kite. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant, show pupils how to chant and do the actions - Get pupils to work in pairs to practice chanting and doing the action. -Invite some pairs to say the chant and do actions in front of the class - Give feedback. - Ask the whole class to say the chant and clap along to the rhythm of the chant. C. Production - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures again D. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer question about what someone like doing. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening & speaking skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss will be active. 4. Forming competence. - To know talking about activities they likes. - Work in pairs B. Audio script: /p61 T's book Key: 1. b 2. c 3. a Activity 2: Listen and number - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to three dialogues about hobbies and tick the correct pictures - Have pupils look at the pictures to identify the characters’ hobbies. - Check understanding. Activity 3: Add your photo and write a reply email to Mai. - Tell pupils that they are going to write a reply email to Mai, using the information from Activity 4. - Have them work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write - Give them time to do the task independently. - Go around offering help, if necessary. - Ask two pupils to write their answers on the board. - Give feedback. Key: Activity 4: Project - Tell pupils that they are going to collect things that they like, show them to their classmates and tell their hobbies. - Call some pupils to present theirs orally in the front of the class - Give feedback C. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about what subjects the other speaker has for the current day. - Sentence Patterns: What subjects do you have today? − I have ____. - Vocabulary: Maths, Science, IT, Vietnamese, Art, Music 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love their class, love subjects - Have positive attitudes with subjects - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about subjects in their class - Practise in pairs B. Language focus * Key terms: Maths, Science, IT, Vietnamese, Art, Music * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: What subjects do you have today? − I have ____. C. I have ... - Introduce new words : Science, IT, Art, Music; then say them aloud for pupils to repeat. - Ask pupils to write down the new words and the structure in their notebook. - Point to the first picture and model the task with one pupil - Tell pupils to practice in pairs, using the structure. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 3: Work in pairs. Ask your partners what subjects they have today. - Tell pupils that they are going to practise in pairs: one asks and the other answers questions about the actual subjects they have today, using What subjects do you have today? I have ... - Get pupils to work in pairs, one asking and the other giving the answer. - Invite a few pairs to role-play in front of the class - Give comments. C.
