WEEK 11 Tuesday, November 15th 2022 S: 4AT1 Period: 41 UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? Lesson 1 (3,4,5) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about what class someone is in. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Read and fill the gapped exchanges, using the pictures. - Play the game Pass the secret. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Love their class, School - United friend 4. Forming competence - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting Let’s play - Tell pupils that they are going to play a game named Passing the secret or Chinese whisper - Guide Ss to play a game: Passing the secret + Divide the class into 2 teams + Tell team 1: My school is in Yen Lang Village + Tell team 1: My school is in Chu Van An Street - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to four dialogues about what the four characters can do and number the pictures. - Ask them to look at the pictures and identify what the character in each picture can do. Check understanding. Task 4. Listen and number - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and number the pictures. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Check Audio script: teacher’s book/p57 Key: a.3 b.1 c.4 d.2 Task 5. Look and write - Tell pupils that they are going to write the answers to the questions about what the children can do, using the picture cues. - Ask them to look at the pictures to identify the character. - Have them write the appropriate answers. Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Check. Audio script: T’s book/p57 Key: 1. Lesson 2 (1,2,3) I. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about someone's hobbies. - Sentence Patterns: What’s your hobby? − I like _____. - Vocabulary: riding a bike, playing badminton, playing a kite, taking photos, watching TV 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - United friend 4. Forming competence - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: riding a bike, playing badminton, playing a kite, taking photos, watching TV * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: What’s your hobby? − I like _____. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting - Sing a song Task 1. Look, listen and repeat - Tell pupils that they are going to learn to how to ask and answer questions about someone's hobbies. - Talk about the pict./ p46 Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing? What are they talking about? - Listen. - Play the recording - Play the recording again (sometimes). - Go around and help Ss - Correct about the intonation, .... - Ask: Which sentence does P. ask L? Which sentence does L. answer? Task 2. Point and say - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about someone's hobbies, using What's your hobby? I like......... - Have them look at the pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts. Help Ss if they need - Point to the first picture and do the task with one pupil, using the expressions in the bubbles and the words under the picture. - Check as a class and correct pronunciation, if necessary. Task 3. Let's talk - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answer questions about someone's hobbies, using What do you like doing? and What's your hobby? I like - Go around to help them - Call some pairs to report in front of the class Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook learn by hearnt new words and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Thursday, November 17th 2022 S: 4AT4 Period: 43 UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? Lesson 2 (4,5,6) I. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer question about someone's hobbies. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Read and fill the gapped exchanges, using the pictures. - Play the game what’s your hobby? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Answer T's Qs Task 4. Look and write - Play the recording - Play again (3 times) - Check as a class. Ask: What can you hear in number 1/2/3? Audio script: /p63 T's book Key: a2 b4 c1 d3 Task 5. Let’s play - Tell pupils that they are going fill the gaps of the sentences relating to the characters’ hobbies. - Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Check as a class. If there is enough time, call a few pupils to read aloud completed sentences. Key: 1. riding a bike 2. flying a kite 3. taking photos/photographs 4. playing badminton *Fun time - Tell pupils that they are going to play the game Passing the ball - Help Ss if they need - Tell pupils the how to do: we will pass the ball and listen a song. When the song pauses, the pupil who hold the ball must answer the question What is your hobby? - Play a song and pause sometimes - Read the text again Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment Friday, November 18th 2022 S: 4AT4 Period: 44 UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the initial letter clusters fl in flying, and pl in playing. - Listen and circle the correct letters showing the correct verb phrases filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant: Flying a little kite. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop Ss listening & writing skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Confident when talking English - United friend 4. Forming competence - Know how to practise some sounds - Practise in pairs II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Key terms: Revision * Key grammatical structures - Sentence: Revision - Textbook: Tiếng Anh4: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Review- Cards. * Warm-up: - Greeting - Have the class to sing a song: This is the way - Lead into new lesson 1. Listen and repeat. (10 minutes) - Tell pupils that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters fl and pl in the words Japan and Vietnamese respectively. -Put the phonics letters fl and pl on the board and say them a few times. - Ask pupils to look at their book, then play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. - Ask pupils to read the letters, words and sentences until pupils feel confident. - Get some pupils to say the letters, words, and sentences in front of the class. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation. 2. Listen and circle. Then say aloud. (10 minutes) - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the correct phrases to complete the sentences. - Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the phrases to fill the gaps. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and circle. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. - Ask pupils to read aloud the sentences. * Key: 1 b 2 a 3 b 4 a 3. Let’s chant (10 minutes) - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant: Flying a little kite. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant, show pupils how to chant and do the actions - Get pupils to work in pairs to practice chanting and doing the action. -Invite some pairs to say the chant and do actions in front of the class - Give feedback. - Ask the whole class to say the chant and clap along to the rhythm of the chant. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next new lesson. * Comment
