WEEK 6 Monday, October 10th 2022 C: 3CT1; 3AT2; 3BT3 Period: 21 UNIT 3: OUR FRIENDS Lesson 3 (4,5,6) A. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Language focus: - Read and match four target sentence patterns with four pictures - Read, understand and complete three sentences by writing the target words in the gaps. - Draw three pictures of their friends and introduce them to the class. - Vocabulary: Review - Sentense pattner: Review 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading and writing. 3. Quality/Attitude: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: tell the truth about feelings and emotions. - Diligence: complete learning tasks. 4. Competence: - Critical Thinking: self-introduce - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Self-control and independent learning: perform listening tasks. B. Warm up. Game: “Chant” *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Ask Ss chant and do the actions in Unit 3, Lesson 3 page 26 in groups. - Give point for the groups and encourage them - Let’s open your book page 27 and look at Unit 3, Lesson 3 (4,5,6) II. Read and match: *Aims: Ss will be able to read and match four target sentence patterns with four pictures. *Procedure: - Have Ss look at pictures and ask Ss Who are they? - Have pupils read the first sentence and make model with sentence 1 - Have Ss work in pairs and match the sentences 2, 3, 4. - Tell Ss to swap books with a partner, then check answers together as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board for pupils to correct their answers. - Invite pairs of Ss to stand up and role play - Give feedback. - Key: 1. d 2. c 3. a 4. b *Outcome: Pupils can read and match four sentences with four pictures III. Give each group a sentence that is broken/cut into pieces. - Ask them to arrange them to make a complete sentence, then read it aloud. - The group that makes it first will be the winner. Wrap-up - Ask Ss to answer the following questions: + What have you learnt from the lesson today? + What are the core values of the lesson? Language focus: - Use the words ear, eye, face, hand, nose in relation to the topic “Our bodies” - Understand and correctly repeat the sentences in two communicative contexts (pictures) to talk about their body parts. - Use What’s this? – It’s . to identify parts of the body. - Vocabulary: face, hand, ear, eye, nose - Sentense pattner: What’s this? Sing: My body song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Show the song on the screen. - Ask pupils to listen, sing and dance the song. - Let’s open your book page 28 and look at Unit 4, Lesson 1 (1,2,3) II. Vocabulary. *Aims: Ss will be able to know the vocabulary in front of starting the new lesson. *Procedure: - T elicits the new words. + a face: khuôn mặt (realia) + a nose: mũi (realia) + an ear: tai (realia) + an eye: con mắt (realia) + a hand: bàn tay (realia) - Introduce the new words according to the 3-2-3 rule. - T writes the words on the board. Correct their pronunciation where necessary. - Have Ss work in pair to practice the diaguage - Invite a few pairs to the front of the class to read aloud. Correct pronunciation if necessary. - Draw their attention to the question What’s this? and the answer It's a nose. Tell pupils that they are a question and an answer about a part of the body. *Outcome: Pupils can understand and correctly repeat the sentences in two communicative contexts about parts of the body. IV. Listen, point and say. *Aims: Ss will be able to correctly say the words and use What’s this? – It’s .. to identify parts of the body. *Procedure: - Elicit from the dialogue in part 1, teacher introduces new structure for Ss. + Model sentences: A: What’s this? Language focus: - Listen to and understand two communicative contexts in which Ss ask and answer the question to identify parts of the body - Read and complete the sentences correctly. - Sing the song “Parts of the body” with the correct pronunciation and melody. - Vocabulary: Review - Sentense pattner: Review 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading and writing. 3. Quality/Attitude: - Kindness: Help partners to complete learning tasks. - Honesty: Tell the truth about feelings and emotions. - Diligence: Complete learning tasks. 4. Game: Who is faster? *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Divide the class into 2 big groups: Boys and Girls. - Have two Ss stand back to back. Give them each a different flashcard to hold facing out and away from them. - When teacher says Go, they walk three steps, turn to face each other and say what the other Ss has. - The faster one will get a point. - Let’s open your book page 29 and look at Unit 4, Lesson 1 (4,5,6) II. Listen and tick. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen to and understand two communicative contexts in which pupils introduce someone and respond to the introduction. *Procedure: - Elicit the names of the characters in each picture. + What can you see? + How many numbers/pictures are there? + What are they doing? - Point at the pictures respectively to explain the context and how to do the task. - Ask Ss to guess the answers and writes Ss’guessing on the board. - Play the recording for Ss listen. - Play the recording again for pupils to do the task. - Get Ss to swap books with their partners. - Play the recording again to check their answers together as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board. Have them identify the characters in the pictures. - Have pupils look at the two incomplete exchanges and elicit the missing words in the sentences. - T models with picture 1 - Ask Ss what is missing in the sentence. - Have Ss look at the picture and complete the gap, then read the completed sentence in chorus. - Have Ss look at the picture 2. - Have pupils complete the dialogues individually and ask a few pairs to read them aloud. - Give feedback Key: 1. an ear 2. an eye 3. a nose 4. a hand *Outcome: Pupils can complete four target sentence patterns with the help of the picture cues. Let’s sing. *Aims: Ss will be able to sing the song This is Linh with the correct pronunciation and melody. *Procedure: - Introduce the title and lyrics of the song: Parts of the body - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen to pronunciation and melody of the song. - Play the recording line by line for Ss to listen, repeat - Play the recording for Ss to sing and do actions. - Ask Ss to practice singing and doing actions in pairs or groups. - Invite groups to the front of the classroom to perform the song *Outcome: Pupils can sing the song Parts of the body with the correct pronunciation and melody. V. Fun corner and wrap-up. *Aims: Ss will be able consolidate and wrap up the content of the lesson by game. *Procedure: Game: Lucky wheel - Divide class into 6 - 8 groups. - Each group has a pupil to spin the wheel. Teacher pushes the button and let’s it spin until a pupil says “Stop!”. - Their group will get points when he/ she answers the question correctly. Wrap-up - Ask Ss to answer the following questions: + What have you learnt from the lesson today? +What are the core values of the lesson?
