WEEK 11 Tuesday, November 23th 2021 ST3: 3AT1; ST5: 3BT2 Period: 24 UNIT 8: THIS IS MY PEN Lesson 1 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. Objectives - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Talk about school things. - Sentence Patterns: This is my ___. / That’s my___. - Vocabulary: pencil, pencil case, school bag, notebook, pencil sharpener 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitudes/Quality: - Love their school things - Keep your school things clean and tidy. 4. Forming competence: - Be able identify school things. - Work in pairs B. Language focus * Key terms: - Sentence Patterns: This is my ___. / That’s my___. * Key grammatical structures - Sentence Patterns: This is my ___. / That’s my___. C. Instructional resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3: Student’s book, CDs player, projectors, computer. - Audio track: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Call a group of five ss to the front of the class to act out the Is your school new? chant, the class clap the rhythm. - Listen and give comments. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have pupils look at the pictures on page 52. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. - Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus. - Have Ss open their books page 48. - Tell ss that they are going to ask and answer the question Is the + (school facility) + (adjective)? - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the names of the characters, school facilities. - Explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Monitor the activity. Activity 2. Point and say - Have ss look at the pictures on page 52: a. pencil, b. pencil case, c. school bag, d. notebook, e. pencil sharpener - Point to picture a. Ask s to guess what each character should say. - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Activity3. Let’s talk - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures - Elicit the words to fill the gap - Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times - Get ss to work in pairs - Go around the class and help when ss necessary Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Tell ss they are going to play a word game, show how to play it - Divide the class into teams of 8-10 students, each team is given a piece of paper with one word written on it - Get ss to play the game - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern Thursday, November 25th 2021 ST5: 3AT1; ST6: 3BT2 Period: 25 UNIT8: THIS IS MY PEN Lesson 2 (1,2,3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm-up - Call a group of five to the front of the class to act out the Is your school new? chant, the class claps the rhythm. - Give comments. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to talk about school things using These/Those are (school things). - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the names of the school things in the picture.. - Explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Monitor the activity Activity 2: Point and say - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify the names of the school things - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Activity 3: Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask Ss walk around the class to introduce their school things. - Monitor the activity. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. * Comment
