WEEK 10 Monday, November 11th 2024 C: 2CT1; 2AT2; 2BT3 Period: 19 UNIT 5: IN THE CLASSROOM Lesson 2: Listen and chant, Listen and tick Look and write A.OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: - Sound /q/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: He’s/ She’s ________(V-ing) - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) 2. Competences: -Correctly pronounce the words question, square, quiz and say the sentence pattern: He’s/ She’s ________(V-ing) in a chant. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love classroom, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Check-up: *Aims: to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1. *Procedure: - SS say the letter and the -T asks ss to say the letter and the sound. sound they learnt in lesson 1(Q/ q) -SS open their book. Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen and chant the first the other lines. Show pupils how to line chant and clap their hands. - Play the recording all the way -Ss listen, chant the first line through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus. -Ss listen, chant the other lines and clap their hands - Select some pupils to the front of the class to chant and clap their -Ss listen and chant all the hands. chant - If they sing the chant well, praise them, saying Well done! or Very -Ss chant in front of the class good. . Activity 2 4. Look and write: *Aims: to write the letter Q/q and complete the words: question, square, quiz -Ss listen. *Procedure: - Have Ss look at the letter Q (upper case) and q (lower case). Ask ss to make sure if they recognize the two forms of the letter. - Tell ss to trace the letter Q/q .T can -SS do the task. demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the broken lines of the letter Q/q on the board. -Then let ss write the letter. Then -Check in pairs. find out the missing letter to complete the correct word. Give further support to those Ss who find -Ss show their work. it difficult to do the task. - Check the results of ss’ tracing and -SS listen. give feedback. Ask ss to work in pairs and swap their answers. Give ss time to work. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Ask some ss to show what they have done. -SS listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. Thursday, November 14th 2024 C: 2CT1; 2AT2; 2BT3 Period: 20 UNIT 5: IN THE CLASSROOM Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: What’s he/she doing? – He’s/ She’s doing a quiz - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) 2. Competences: - Use: What’s he/she doing? – He’s/ She’s doing a quiz to ask and answer question about what someone is doing . - Sing a song about playing in the backyard. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love classroom, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Game: Slap the board *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: - SS listen and play -Write the words on the board game. - Call 2 Ss to go to the board and ask them to slap the word when T says one word aloud. -SS open their book. - After finishing the game, the student slaps more correct words will be the winner. - Say “Open your book page 25 and look at lesson 3” Activity 1. 6.
